So there's this bar. You and some buddies found it one night, and it really clicked with you. So you keep going all the time. You get to know some of the other people who often go there, and the owner and bartender always bullshit with you about the interesting beers and liquors they have there.
Then one day you and your buddies go in there, and the place has been completely remodeled. You ask the owner and he says the place needed a change badly and to pay for the upgrade liquor is more money, beer is twice as much, and the popcorn isn't free anymore. Next week you go and only the die-hard regulars and friends of the owner are there, and the owner is tending bar because the usual bartender now works at a different place most nights. Instead of talking about booze the owner always tries to sell you hats or t-shirts with the bar's new logo on it. So you kind of avoid talking to him and sit at a corner table instead of the bar. Within a month, you don't really go there anymore. You find another bar or just drink at home.
Every now and then you stop in to see if the place has gone back to the way it was. The beer is still good, and you recognize some faces, but it's just not the same. And that makes you sad, but there's nothing anyone can do about it.

It's kinda sad, cause I remember the WBW of old pretty well (I joined in '04), and nowadays it's a little of the old WBW, but at the same time really different. I still try to post in threads that interest me, but usually only have time for a line or two of encouragement and/or appreciation to the topic starter. Back in the old days, I'd start threads of my own, and contribute pics to threads others started - now I don't, really. Part of it is because I don't have time to find the content to start a new thread with, and part is because I but feel like dealing with all the crap replies accusing me of using Photoshopped pics, or debating the relative merits of fake vs. real tits. Things change, it's true - but I think many people also fear change, and maybe that's why so many of the old school members aren't contributing, or are unhappy with the way things are going. Oh well, just my two cents.

That's a really touching story. Except in the case of this bar the place hasn't been completely remodeled. The owner has just put in new carpet and tables and chairs and one of those new modern jukeboxes. He did not raise the drink prices to pay for it. He has never tried to sell me a T-shirt or hat, he just hung some behind the bar because some patrons asked if they were available. The owner has been nothing but cool, he's just been busy working on the place because it needed some sprucing up. The beer is still good and the people are still cool and most of the people you used to see here still stop by sometimes. But like in everything else people change and have other things to do.
So I'll see you guys when you stop by.

Would it fall into the category of irony that a WTF thread sparked some debate and conversation?

good point. I think this is one of the best threads here in a while and this is not ironic or sarcastic.

I even made a thought out entry.
That's how you know the thread is great, when I get interested to think.

it only depends on all of us to make this place interesting as it was, it is or it will be!

maybe its not wbw but the comunity, and why the hell blame mods if you cant get your own shit straight? this is one point of attention he can work on, self critisism is not everyone's strong point,

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift; that's why they call it the present.

I just can't take this kinda shit seriously, does anyone have idea who in the fuck this guy is? Does he post anywhere really, or make threads? At least we try to keep the forums active, and instead of this guy thinking to himself "how can I make this site better" he makes a thread bitching about it..good fucking plan. You aren't part of the solution, you're a lurker..almost all the members who used to make worthwhile posts are lurkers now too it seems, or they're just fucking gone, and the non-porn part of the forum stays dead. Whenever we make threads, serious threads that are interesting and engaging..they sit there because nobody can be half fucked to come up with a well though out response. Im pretty sure people rarely even read the first post anymore..they just read the thread title and make some incoherent bullshit useless post that is meant to be funny, but only they really get...so we stopped really making threads like that, and make easy 1 line answer threads, so a few people can be bothered to type out a few lines. If you want to be part of the solution, have at it..sit down think out some shit and make an interesting cool thread, I guarantee i'll post in it..I like the activity in the lounge and other non-porn parts of the forum...The non porn community on this site is getting fewer and fewer no matter how hard we try to keep the threads coming, very few people read them or respond..so we make easy threads, for a laugh or to at least get a couple of posts...what have you done to fix things? Nothing.. Like I said, you are not part of the solution by bitching about things, it's great to see you're a sponsor member..but other than that you're a lurker..so come on, make a cool tread..im sure we'd all like to post in it..
posts like that are exactly why i dont post on here, even MODS cant be civilized when responding to a complain, if when someone posts and you just cut him down your not goin to get people to post new threads or replys to old ones, and im sure this post will either be ignored or i will get the same response

my only observation is that the sponsor membership has little advantage, and the photos are not as good as before.
