Well, this not only proves my point - but is the last "brush off" that I'll get from this forum. To the delight of some of you, I'm done here.

Sorry to call you out diz, but this is the exact bullshit that killed your community: (ignore my comment about forgetting my password, which is true - had to change it due to some events that happened)

All this discussion is quite interesting.

I remember when I was a kid, I started chatting I was 13yo, and Internet was yet to born in the form we all know it now.
I was calling computers directly, connecting to them with my 14.4Kbps modem, spending a crazy amount of my parents' money on long distance calls (first bill was 550$/400E.. and we are talking of 1994).
I was always able to find ppl willing to chat, ppl with something to share.
Now, internet is something simple, you plug the ethernet cable in, you are online at Mbit speed. Everybody has MSN which requires a minimal effort to set up.
Result, the net has become a mirror of current society, where lot of ppl have nothing to say, and they log in just to say how bored they are.

Solution? Fuck, I have no idea.
Still I see when I log on any chatroom, I bring some laughs, I try to start some convos about.. whatever... most of the time getting reactions like "shut the fuck up" or similar.

Therefore, I would say a more positive and talkative attitude from everyone would help it... maybe trying to avoid "pulling down" answers, especially on first replies, and trying to keep to conversation up adding new ideas/opinions.

Well, that's it. A small contribution from everyone will lead to a big result.

Well as an old-school member I would say: hell year I miss the long days on WBW, but people go on with their lives, most peepz from 3 years back are gone, the 8-hours a day chatting and posting porn

period is gone.... I haven't logged on for almost a year now, time for the new genaration I would say but I see the same old problem....

I see its mostly Crew and Demigods posting, but here is my 2c.

I think that the problem might be that most ppl out there has “small dick” syndrome when it comes to status, they have a fear of being a noob for ever, so they post loads of shit just to get points to move closer to the demigod status thinking this will automatically earn you some respect.

I’m not saying the ranking system is the cause, but the problem is some of the users on the site, perhaps a change in the ranking system, or even who can get ranked. Take it away for all the normal ppl and make it a paying member only thing. This way you will eliminate users who post anything just to get rank and perhaps get more users who are here cause they like to contribute and chat to other ppl.

I will say that while I have mostly lurked and commented here and there, my opinion does count no matter whether you know me or not.

The new layout is horrible, the site is much less usable than it has ever been before.

I maintained sponsor membership for a couple of years, and I have no desire to continue now.

Please change back to something like the old style.

I don't get what's wrong with the new layout. I liked the old one yes, but I haven't had any complaints, other than the Top 5 thing never working on the main page. It worked for a week when the new layout came out, then just went to shits after that.

Well I am fairly new here to the community but i know from experience that it is really scary for someone that hasn't been here for a while to actually post something. I know back when i was still a wee little noob that I was scared shitless of posting anything for fear of reprisal (which is why i never formally introduced myself and no one knows who the hell I am) I had seen so many people make an effort to post something for the first time and get completely bashed and torn down therefore they were never to be seen again. I truthfully am still somewhat afraid to try and start a thread because I'd feel like an idiot when it didn't work out and I would be left wide open for the hoards of assholes waiting to tear me down. Maybe I'm just crazy and have a security issue or am just paranoid but for now I'll stick to commenting

I half agree with "mack" but I think all the "old school" have just grown up a bit. Although I was not an original member of WBW, I think I've been part of the community long enough to realise that it's the members that make it not the crew etc.

I think I just got bored of the porn.

When people like Latino, Watty, Jack, DPK, EL, ETV etc stopped spamming the place up, this place kinda died for me.

People like me, who are not here for the porn, found somewhere else that still has the community without the fucktards like TheJim etc to spoil it!

No no, Twiztd I completely agree with you. I started an AdultSwim thread about a month ago and had a few people bashing me because of cartoons and crap. Apparently they don't know what the hell it is, and decided to beat me down. But the thread turned out decent for a day or two. I've also posted a few pics in the forums of women that I enjoy looking at and had a few people swear up and down that they were all photoshoped or just a few were. Great example is the Jeri Ryan thread I did. I know for a fact that they weren't because I've seen the FHM magazine that they were in also so I knew of the validity of them.

I am also getting used to the people in here. Of course there is always going to be the occasional dickwad that wants to put someone down, or try to flex their epeen so that they raise they're luck at not getting gas after eating their cookies and milk. They're weird like that.

change is inevitable, but the new format still has some bugs that need working out - I personally still cannot search the forums for example - but I love the new layout and find the image return far faster than the previous version - as for posting isnt that a personal thing, perhaps some of the long standing posters were perhaps upset by how buggy the new release was and went elsewhere - jus bear with wbw and the community will rebuild
