Picture Ratings and the Jerks

Having thought about it though, it would be kind of cool to know what my average out-bound rating was. Maybe that's something we could add to the next version.

"Average Babe Score" in the member's profile is for uploads, not vote's cast.

As for rating in general, I don't understand why people care... I don't need anyone else to validate my opinion of whether a chick is hot... or whether she's not.

Personally, I only vote if

(a) I'm upvoting. On rare occasions, I will downvote but it pretty much has to be a face like a bag of spanners with a body from heavyweight wrestling and the rating is probably 3 already.

(b) I actually like the picture, so it's pretty much guaranteed that I'll be voting 7 or more. I figure if I don't like it then no-one gives a shit, and someone does like it so who am I to downvote it.

That's why some people's profiles who have rated pictures have no average rating for their pics - because they have not uploaded any and this number measures the ratings of THOSE pics.

This user for example, has voted four times, but has nothing in their average rating area. Since the lowest we can rate pics is a 1, then he would have at least 1 in that area if it actually tracked how we rated other pics.

It doesn't. It tracks the average rating of the pics this user has uploaded.

Here's a dude that has 180+ votes he has cast, and his average still shows a zero. Know why? because he hasn't uploaded any pics, and that's what the "average rating" measures.

See how he has uploaded two movies, so there's an average rating score for the movies he has uploaded? See how he hasn't uploaded any pics, and thus that rating is missing?

This isn't that damned hard.

God forbid you actually stop to look for thirty seconds to find out what the fuck is going on before you talk out your ass...

And Tarqin et al. (highguy, I think) are right when they say that the average rating score is the average rating for the pictures a member has uploaded, not the average score the poster has given other pictures.

i usually dont give a vote under a 5 the occasional 4 it would be nice if we could have a (.5) button so we could give a 7.5 etc

OK, Ricky, here's your 'splanation:

Stupid, uncalled-for votes are annoying but do not nearly rise to the level of hacking personal information. They are not screwing with the system, because each member still only gets one vote. But they are screwing with YOU!

When someone votes 1, models don't get penalized, it doesn't cost anyone anything - it is just an opinion. The only reason someone could possibly be entertained by constantly voting 1 is because it gets a rise out of other members.

Every time you post an objection to 1-only-voters you are reinforcing their reason for doing it! Please don't perpetuate the problem by continuing the argument. Just let it play itself out.

Eventually, even the most ardent pest will go away if no one responds to their silly game.

But it is more than obvious that the '1' voters are doing it for the sake of being assholes. And NOBODY can argue otherwise. There are a few viewers here who do nothing but jump from picture to picture, rating each and every picture that they see as '1'. Does it matter? Hmmm!
