Picture Ratings and the Jerks

I see your point. I know what I see as a 10 maybe what some else sees as a 5 even, but if looking at the pic doesn't make you want to puke then a 1 is really a stupid score. ( If you don't have to clean it up then you really didn't feel like puking)

All in all so many people vote that it averages out anyway so there's no point in doing anything about it. If a guy is voting 1 on every pic he comes across his own votes don't even really count because he's voting 1's across the board on every pic so the averages of all pics he votes on are effected equally.

There's a lot of people who vote 10's constantly too. So we'd have to ban them as well to counter balance. It would take a ton of work for absolutely no real improvement in anything. The ratings would probably be slightly higher on all pics but that's it.

No, in fact, if a limit were made to how many votes could be made in a 24 hour period, the "trolls" that are intentionally attempting to lower scores with continuous "blind" votes of 1 would suddenly have their efforts thwarted enough that they, in many cases, would grow bored of the effort and stop doing it and otherwise would not negatively affect as many pictures. I don't know about everyone else, but I vote when I visit based on pictures I notice from casual browsing. A "troll" will instead go through dozens even hundreds of photos in a session because that's where the "fun" is for them -- to diminish the efforts/outlook/behavior of others.

Do as you will. Just a logical suggestion...

Buns90 kinda captures my sentiment here. I tend to think that some harshly low voting reflects a sickness in our society where some kids think plastic and airbrushed chicks are hotter than the real deal.

Also, while I totally get the need to let people vote whatever they like - otherwise why have a voting system - I do think that statistically the '1' crowd skews the average, because they're not countered by a similar size crowd of people voting 10, and I would be interested to see the average votes without them. So I don't think this was quite as dumb a thread as a few of you made out. Still let's get back to looking at semi-dressed hotties.

28 out of 124 votes are 1. Grades 2, 3 and 4 got no votes. But that can be easily fixed by using different statistical method, not just simple average.
Maybe voting is not important any more, but then, what's the use of top babes list? What's the use of All time top babes list? What's the use of ratings at all?

My wild guess is that it's either a bot or some competition site trying to make a part of the WBW useless. Interesting how those votes come in bursts and only hit top babes list!

I too get very annoyed at those Yahoo's that constantly vote 1's to every pic posted. Especially on pic's I feel should be rated higher (Everyone has their own taste),but I agree with the moderators, that you can't Police everyone who votes 1's or 10's or 5's etc.. For us that really Enjoy this site,we will continue to vote according to our taste and continue to enjoy what this site has to offer. Hopefully those other Yahoo's will tire of our steadfastness and go else where. This is a GREAT Site,Lets Keep it that way!

Out of those 545, 56 jerks had rated her a '1'.
But then, as I was writing this, she received four more votes. Guess what! They were all '1's. In a matter of 2 minutes, four jerks rated this pic and all of them vited '1'. I couldn't believe my eyes, watching it happen right then and there, each time that I refreshed the page.

Who are you to tell other people what is attractive to them or not? What if some of those ones are from people who only like fat chicks? Or from dudes who only like asian or black chicks or something? Really, personal tastes vary wildly, and that's why there is no one standard for beauty. Some people vote all the chicks who aren't naked low.

It's their right to do that. Is it stupid? Maybe, but it's more stupid to ban people from voicing their opinion - in the form of a vote - because we don't like what they choose to say.



I would be in favor of some mechanism which would allow us to see who voted what for each chick, but even if that were the case, I still wouldn't be in favor of banning people who perpetually vote low. In the end, it all evens out.

The best part of this thread for me? I never knew that you could see the rating breakdown, but I do now!

Bear in mind that a lot of people won't use the rating system. If they like it, it gets a 10. If they don't, it gets a 1.

Maybe they use a 5 now and then too.

For people that don't care to take the time to rate each pic on a "scale" of that nature, it's either a good pic or a bad pic.

This contributes too, and there's really nothing wrong with the way they do things.

Nowhere in any of my comments did I propose that WBW dictate how people vote. I vote 1 when I see some shit in the top five that doesn't deserve it, like one time (in band camp) there was a picture of an average ass in a pair of jeans HERE it was in the top five, clearly seen on the homepage and it had 25% of people voting 10 !!!

It could be a mans ass, it's foooking embarrassing to be a member of a site that votes a pic like that so highly.
