Both are just throwing more power at you. They'll both be good, just like now. Nintendo is the only one actually trying something new. Sony and Microsoft are only using their consoles to push their new DVD 's (sony=Blueray, Micro=HD-Dvd)
And the computer world is split down the middle on who their supporting.

I think that X-Box 360 has more to offer in terms off Modding, and a more unique gaming/technological experience, but in raw power and advanced gaming, I think that PS3 has the edge, the new gen chip by Sony and IBM will kick the poo out of the current but tweaked technology used in the X-Box 360. I will be buying both though and have already Pre-Ordered mine and bought a hi-def ready lcd tv to go with it .

Wow Dagnabbit you opened a can of worms bringing formats up… Sony have blu-ray and its great seen and played with it!!!! they also have a load of other companys in on it HP, Apple, Panasonic, Dell, Sharp, Samsung, and phillips are just a few of the companys involved in making the hardwear for PC and home entertainment and for software you have Adobe, pinical and well basiclly all the big companys except Microsoft.
Anyway the hardware side of microsoft only consists really of Xbox and 800dpi mice but they do have sanyo and a few others but all the big boys are backing sony up, should be a fight pity we the consumer get stuck in the middle.
