And how many of the current players of any sport are going to stick around for a measly 1 mil a year.

What are you going to about all these dictator type countries around the world that pay their people squat and reap in millions and billions of dollars for themselves. How are going to make China or North Korea follow your little plan. Remember, N.K has a army of 1 million. Or all these countries in S. America and Africa that are run by drug cartels and murderers. How will you make them do anything without war and bloodshed. Sure, America has plenty of problems. No country can be perfect as long as people run them. But someone said about having richer nations help poorer nations. Well, US , Britian, Oz and some others have been pouring money into poor nations for the last 50 to 60 years and they aren't any better than they started mainly due to who leads those countries.
The only way you could make everyone follow your plan would be to have a world wide gestopo cough*unitednations*cough to inforce it and we know how corrupt that would be. And I wont even get into the varied religious problems you'd face.

Everybody, go and take an Economics 101 college course taught by a Capitalist and learn something. By the end of the first semester it will be clear to you as to what is going on in the world and your little corner of it.

Now for those of you who think the rich are evil, let's take a look shall we.

Bill Gates: Started out with a little DOS contract to IBM. Now employs thousands, software that helped create or improve millions of jobs. He only wanted about 100 employees and now thousands earn a good living.

Richard Branson: High school dropout. Took a chance with Virgin Records. Now has an airline and god knows what else.

Arnold Schwarzaneggar: No money, goes to America. Wins bodybuilding contests. Buys an apartment building, makes money. Does a movie. Learns English(not Queens English but close enough). Buys more buildings to rent. Makes money. Wins bodybuilding contest. Make movie. Make more money. Repeat. Then screws up by running for California governor and now deals with a vast majority of idiots in legislature.

Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank: They open a hardware store based on their experience, knowledge and training in the hardware store business. In 1984 they go public with Home Depot. Over a thousand stores later and thousands of jobs are created. Both retire. One buys a football team, the other opens a fishing hole in downtown Atlanta.

I could go on. Every country has a success story against the odds. But all of these people took a chance, WORKED HARD and reinvested the money back into the business and people. They made a profit. Those profits created more jobs and paid more taxes.

Take a look at the countries that have low wages and you will find dictators, low education rates, corruption and other assorted evils. If those people were given a chance at a better government that educated their people and allowed for captialism with protected rights they would have a higher standard of living and such. Besides, if communism is so good why is the standard of living so low. Same goes with socialism. It's nice to have the government provide you with services but they also dictate how much you can have. And by the way, where does the government get the money for those limited services that they provide. The taxpayer. Then again, if you got to keep it you could dictate how much you got. No government bureaucrats would have to be hired to lower the amount of money for the things you need. Those people could then be freed to persue other opportunities and quite possibly be the next entreperneur to provide more jobs for more people. Do you really want the government telling you what you can and can't do like your mother does.

In the end, life is not fair.

haha, they don't have a choice! most of them dont even have a real college education, and sports is all they have. 1 mil. is still plenty for them, and they'd have to live with it.

The 1st settlers of the new world tried communism. Each was given a plot of land and told what to grow. Any extra went into a pot for the community. It failed miserably. Not until they were allowed to sell any "extra" did the economy thrive. Not to mention the "excess" it created not only benefited he who created it but also the community as a whole.

What ever anybody says... there is not easy answer. Making a world wide $12/hour (or equivelent) is not the answer. There is always goign to be a class of haves and have-nots...

True why stop at 12$ an hour. Lets set it at a Million dollars an hour. That way everybody will be rich. Wait if the guys building my mansion are making a million an hour my house will cost like a billion dollars. Fuck I need a raise already.

what it comes down to is that for socialism to work, it needs like-minded people. People who all buy into the idea. That is impossible, thus, socialism just won't work in real life. Looks great on paper, but it's not practical.

Just FYI...Communism the Soviet Union way was not how Marx depicted it, and was NOT true socialism.
