FPS - Perfect Dark (classic) Halo2 (now)
Hack n Slash (not the guys from reboot) - Diablo
RTS - Broodwar / Warcraft3 ( side note: I hated WoW, but other than that gj blizzard)
Super Smash Brothers Melee is good to (dunno genre really though)
then for rpg/adventure its Zelda Ocarina of Time and Oblivion
DOS Games, DukeNukem II, Pitfall, CaveRunner (Comodore 64 technically), and just because it hit my mind Wacky Wheels (lol?)

id say battlefield 2. it has so much potential in up comming editions. allowing player to utilize alot of the environment. instead of a minimal environment.
