Ok, with all the crap going on with Charlie Sheen, love him, or hate him...

1 - can he be replaced, and would the show still be a hit?

2 - who do you think could replace him?

3 - would CBS be better off just continuing the show without him, and not replacing him, and just see what happens?

4 - do you think all the crap lately is just hype and a publicity stunt?

I could go on all day with this but I won't...

So what do you think, any thoughts?

He's done ... he made some pretty bad comments towards the producers of the show. The show will end, but maybe they will try to finish this season without him somehow. I bet they'll probably just show repeats in the time slot. They (CBS) have 8 years in the bag already ... plenty of money to be made off of syndication.

I've never really liked him, so I didn't watch the show. I guess he was alright in Major League, but horseshit in everything else I saw him in.

Charlie Sheen is finished with the show and most likely his career. The hate filled rants and bizarre comments like "I'm a rock star from Mars" have sealed his fate....even his publicist has quit. Even though a recent drug test showed there were no drugs in his system in the past 72 hours, his strange comments have continued, too be honest it would have been better if he was high while he said them.

If TV producers think there is anyway to make money they'll do it. So I believe they'll try and replace him...I've already heard that John Stamos has been talked about. The show won't last long if he's replaced, but if the numbers work they'll try it for awhile.

I don't think it's hype on Sheen's part, it's more like career suicide.

@ horni - I agree, he has made some really bad remarks to the producers of the show, but, on the other had, supposedly, the producers have made some pretty bad remarks to Charlie also, none of which I have heard, and the interviews I've seen from Charlie, he hasn't elaborated on them...

@ SP - I've heard the rumors about John Stamos replacing him, I think they would be better off either, continuing the show without Charlie, just writing him out of the script, or canceling the show. I don't think after 8 seasons Charlie can be replaced by anyone, and still have the show be as successful as it has been...

For the record, I like Charlie and pretty much everything he has been in, be it movies or tv...

It would be best if they just cancelled the show, but when was the last time a tv network did the right thing. Like I said before, if there is anyway they think they can make some more money off the show, they'll do it. Stamos would be way cheaper than Sheen and could play a cousin or something, they'll write Sheen out of the show somehow and write Stamos (or whoever) in. I'd be willing to bet on it.

I'll take that bet. They'll make plenty of money off of the repeats, which get great ratings, for now. And later will get money from other stations showing it. I think they'll just come up with a new show for next year.

I don't know what we can bet though ...

@ HG - yes he is ready, and as he stated in one interview I watched, he's always ready, no matter how much partying he has ever done, he has never missed one production day that cost anyone any time or money...

@ horni and SP - I'm not taking any bets on what CBS will do

So you say they just cancel it? I think it's already in some sort of syndication.

Yes ... next year they cancel it for sure. This year, they may try to finish it somehow ... but I could see them just showing repeats.

Well, there was supposed to be 8 episodes left, they have cancelled 4 of those. So if they finish it, they better get at it soon.

What shall we bet? Hmmm.

Charlie is done with the show, and the show is done with him. They may have a couple episodes to put an "official end" to it (He & Rose go off...).
The kid is older now & not as cute w/ less plot involvement. Jon Cryer's role is not the reason people will continue to watch it. The other characters are great but not enough to have a spinoff, well maybe the Mother.
Part of the success of the show was the bevelievablity of the title character, since we all know his background.

Here is a twist - since he replaced Michael J. Fox on Spin City, bring Michael in to replace Charlie on 2 1/2 Men.
People would watch just out of curiousity.

I love the show and it's sad that Charlie has become a bit of a monster, He can be replaced.
#4497134
I'd love to see Micheal J Fox return to tv, sadly he is in no condition to do so.

If I win - You get breast enhancement surgery, no less than a J cup, and send me before and after pics.

If you win - My wife will get the surgery, and I'll send you before and after pics.

My prediction:

1) The show is finished, they won't try to make it work without him.

2) Charles Sheen will continue to be a douche bag (but also a successful actor)

I'd love to see that, but alas you are correct, he's in no condition

@ horni - interesting wager mate, I like it, and would need to be an impartial judge on this matter

@ brownell - You're probably right, I don't think they will try to make a go of the show without him, but I'm not so sure yet that the show is over either...
