For me, I think it's Band of Brothers.

Planet Earth series would be second.

One thing is certain in my mind, cable TV channels have far surpassed the quality of broadcast network's programming.

The Sopranos come high on my list followed by two French cop series, Braquo and Spiral. I think you really have to dig around the listings to find anything worth watching nowadays

Top Gear for reality and Breaking Bad for drama is ok, everything else I watch is either on cable or it's sport.

I like The Big Bang Theory, although the writing on the latest series has wained somewhat.

True Blood is awesome, and had loads of boobies too!

I think the best one though HAS to be Boardwalk Empire. The realism alone makes it!

Special mentions go to Lost, Prison Break, Sopranos, Dr Who and Merlin.

without a doubt all the bud spencer/terence hill movies from the 70s and 80s and of course the A-TEAM!

I haven't seen any Big Bang Theory but I thought Prison Break and True Blood started off pretty well in their first seasons before the plots started to get too thick.

Wallander. Inspector Wallander. I'm waiting for the new episodes. it's a BBC- Yellowbird( Sweden) production with Kenneth Branagh. It has great cinematography and good plots.

Space: Above and Beyond was a series that lasted only one series but was really good. Band of Brothers was totally brilliant and for comedy it has to be The Big Bang Theory and Faulty Towers.

Totally agree! By the third season Prison Break he was in a different prison, it just couldn't continue...

Same for True Blood. Although they're based on the novels, the plot seemed to go off on a mad tangent. Still good for Anna Paquin's titties tho!

American Horror story was pretty cool. I like The Walking Dead too. The only things I watch on network TV are sports and The Simpsons.

Homicide: Life on the Street http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homicide:_Life_on_the_Street was my favorite police drama ever.

Andre Braugher's character, Frank Pembleton, was most brilliantly portrayed, but lots of interesting, well-acted characters.

Season 3, "Every Mother's Son" episode, was the most gripping and superbly presented thing I've ever seen on TV. It had two mothers sitting in a police station waiting room, watching their young sons play together, and getting to know and like each other. Both were unaware until the end that the reason they were called in to the station was that one mother's firstborn had killed the other mother's firstborn. Superbly, believable acted by Gay Thomas-Wilson and Rhonda Stubbins White.

My thread sits for a month and suddenly gets a life of it's own. Cool.

Gonna have to check out The Wire. Never even heard of it.

Recently got into Justified, thanks to the wonder of DVR's catching up on old cable shows is pretty easy.
