However, I do want to say something about this.

There's a good reason we decided to ban all political and religious threads at WBW. Fact is that no matter how you bring it, someone will be offended.
The same is true for those sketches. Eventhough we may find them funny and possibly only a bit provocative, muslims are hurt bad by them. Those sketches attacked someone who is long gone, who can't defend himself anymore. Even worse, it's a person who was and is very important in their religion.

You could compare it to them making jokes about Jesus Christ and God, and printing it in a newspaper. There are many jokes possible, but none will do anything but insult Christians around the world.

It's simply not done. Don't mess with our religion and we won't mess with yours. This newspaper messed with them.
Now you might say that attacking embassy's and threatening people (don't know if anyone has been killed or hurt yet) is over the top, but a substantial part of the muslim community is very dedicated in their beliefs. You could expect the same from Christianity if they had a lot of dedicated, young followers.

Some things in war, love and religion are not done. This is clearly one of them.

i can only say freedom of speech is freedom of speech, and you won't see anyone torching an embassy or apliying threats or pressure on a country when Jesus Christ is slandered ( and jesus is an islamic prophet too )
so what these radical ppl ( and i dont mean muslims in general) are doing is measuring with 2 measures, and have clearly lost their ability to see things in perspective, in this way they are slandering the islamic believe more than a few infidels drawings.....

Alltough I think the publishing of those pictures is not directly connected to freedom of speech and press, I think the reaction we see is way out of proportion.

The people of Jyllands-Post should have been able to forsee that the pictures would get an angry reaction from the muslims. The problem is that the religion in especially the Nordic countries is very down-to-earth, and big part of the nations don't really "believe" even if they belong to the church.
that is the reason why they couldn't understand that muslims, who are usually very strong in their beliefs would be so severely insulted...

The people in JP should not have published those pictures at all in the first place.
But now the damege is done, and they can't undo it anymore.

Ill try as good as i can to say this in English.

Yesterday in the news, thay had a Iman, to come in and talk about whats going on.
The Iman was asked about why he, and the rest of his delegation, went to the middel east and lied about the drawings here in Denmark.

His reply was " It is my freedom of speech " . . . .

Excuse me ?

He got that freedom of speech here in Denmark! In Europe! If he was still in the middle east, he wasnt allowed to say anything that the goverment didnt approve of.

The paper did already say sorry about the drawings and made a statement about it.

And why do the Imans in Denmark want to LIE about the drawings and tell that we a burnings the Koran in the streets when this is not true?

They want to get a fight going, and the problem is, that the young arab kids are the ones that are going to fight here.

If you see this video from the Central station of Denmark, you can see how the young kids are the ones making the trouble, just to have somthing to do.
