This will eventually get out of hand and locked, but until then, the matter is so important that I personally encourage people to talk about this for as long as possible.

They want us to understand them and their feelings, but they should also understand us and our rights.

Ok then. I'll speak my mind. I don't understand why they are so upset since it isn't written that it is forbidden. I mean, I wouldn't care the least if they made a caricature of god or jesus...

CK, other religins are often attacked in print. I don't remember any Christians or Jews attacking embassies or threatening the lives of people who published them. If they did I'd be the first to denounce that sort of behavior. Just because someone's feelings are hurt gives them no right to attack property or endanger peoples lives.

Like we say in Denmark, we have no problem having muslims in our culture, but they have a problem having us in their culture

i also agree with that. would be wise to respect all the religions in general. those who have the power in media, should use it wisely.

but what comes to these some islamic radical leaders; can you see what they are doing all over the world? they incite their own lads which are mostly uneducated, to all of these violent actions. and that way they can have their obtrusiveness globally. if that is not a major attention-whoring, then what is ?

peace all.

http://whatboyswant.com/forum_read/1967062 < --- thread already on this.

second of all me being a muslim, defending our rights and respect yes... burning embassys to prove that not at all. but as u can see the burnings happened in syria and this morning in lebanon. and due to political reasons explainned in the thred above, u'll c y theyre burning the embassies. i just learnt that the people who burnt embassies in lebanon were syrian militants ( in lebanon theyre everywhere after the war with israel ended syria refused to leave ... which a couple of years later they assasinated rafik hariri and now everyone is pissed so basically theyre burning embassies to take the arab eye of them and place it on the danes). jesus is a prophet to us. he is in the same respect as muhammed theyre both prophets form allah ( god ) to man. The imams ( muslim leaders like priests ) never said anything about burning down, they did however say show ur feelings in peacfull ways but then again they never listen to the power figures. to me this is really sad im happy our religion is standing up for what it believes in, but it really pisses me off to c how they did it theyre just gonna end up havn a huge fight over a person or a country which loses a life and forget about the actual cartoons. i really dont condone these actions, this is getting out of hand real fast.

There are major double standards going on here. If I, as a white European were to stand in a London street with a banner that said "Butcher the Muslims" or "Hang Negroes" or whatever I'd be arrested by police in riot gear before you could spit, and charged with "incitement to hatred" which is a criminal offence in the UK. And quite right too. Yet here we have the "ethnic minorities" promoting murder and the police standing by doing NOTHING. It is only political correctness that causes this - the politicians are so afraid of "offending" ethnic groups that they do nothing.

It's simple - if you choose to live in a country with a culture that is different from yours, respect its laws and values! If you don't like it, go and live somewhere else. Those people with banners in the pictures should go and live in Iran or Saudi Arabia, and not try to alter my culture to suit themselves, especially as they are a guest. I'm not trying to alter theirs - they can practice whatever traditions or beliefs they want in their own country. When I was in the middle east I was respectful of their beliefs, was polite to them, took my shoes off before going into mosques, tried to speak their lanquage etc etc. I certainly didn't criticise them or make threats.

The culture of Europe is of freedom of speech and tolerance. They need to respect that or leave.

I really HATE political correctness.

I tell you what the "us" and "them" is for me,first its not US and Iran, christian and muslim,West and East, its about "Us",the people all over this planet in every country who just want to live a decent life, raise families of our own in a safe enviorment and enjoy our lives and our friends etc. The "Them" are the politicians of this world who want nothing but power and control over everything we do and we are constantly subjected to thier lies and manipulations through deliberate missinformation, media cencorship and creating an enviorment of fear and paranoia amonst us all.
This is the "Them" we should be ridding ourselves of.Not each other.
Look around, its frightening ,I wonder about the mental state of alot of these so called "world leaders",a lot seem to have personal issues that really need addressing and yet here they are in position to make choices that affect us all.Madness rules this world!
