But it is a shame that SA had to resort to the Northern hemispheres version of the game... run with the ball people run with the ball throw some flair in there... drop goals should only be a last resort, not the only... IRB needs to take a good look at the way they are running the game, I hear next season they are introducing/trailing new rules for the southern hemisphere, But only us... its going to make the international season very interesting next year, especially when northern refs ref our games and southern refs ref your game..... confused? well Im just rambling....

Yes best team won, we lost it on the line out and the kicking game, with the Aussies are complaining about.

I don't think it was a try, he lifted his leg a fraction too late, but we didn't get the bounce of the ball on the night and a few of the refs decisions....had we had that little bit of luck it might of been different.

We played well, with exception to the occasional lack of discipline that cost us dear.

Considering form wise for the past 4 years we've been diabolical including games in this WC i'm proud of the transformation!!!

the only thing we aussies and maybe kiwis complain about is the way the game is played up there. Youre more worried about winning with penalties and field goals instead of scoring tries. Just look at this Final...SA had to resort to that low level of game to win that sucks...
where was the long runs?

winning and scoring high scores of penalties just sucks..
means all teams have to do is get enough penalties to get a good lead, and then strangle the opposition to make sure they cant score and keep it that way..yay, exciting game..

i dont think the aussies deserve to win, we didnt play as well as we could have. But im not going to say the games have been fun to watch when theres no tries..

i'm not disagreeing with you, it's not the most attractive way of playing, but it is affective and the only way northern hemisphere teams hope to beat the southern, who have players have players who are huge, phenomonly strong and amazingly fast.

Australia,NZ,SA and even Tonga and the other islands have players who can destroy teams with gazelle like runs.

Who do the north have Robinson, good player but doesn't physically compare....Chabal is probably the closest we got to it!!...and the southern hemisphere have them in abundance(mostly ethnically islanders(Fiji,Tonga etc.))
