Shame. England will take a spanking on Friday, if we play as badly as we did yesterday

It wasn't a shock. Argentina had beaten France in 4 out of their previous 5 meetings. I don't call that much of a shock.

the argentines arent a bad team

i mean, theyve never really been thrashed like other teams have (from memory, could be wrong)
its just their location and local continent comps arent as good as the rest of the world..

if they had more play with the big teams of the game, theyd be a better force to battle with..

if only they had changed the tri nations to a 4 nations comp with a south american team....that be cool..

would be cool but not a chance aye... the travel for the kiwis and Aussies would be a killer... the weekly travel to and from SA for Our super 12 and national squads already is pretty much a killer, but with what SA did in the tri-nations by sending a 2nd string side our way may have an opening for the Argies... But i reckon NZRU and ARU should help develop the Pacific nations they are right on our doorstep afterall...

But second round coming up hopefully the big three get more of a challenge, otherwise the knock out phase is going to shit...

no-one should be surprised by the argies - they've been getting better year on year, and most of their players play in french teams. there's even been suggestions that they should join the six nations!

also, is it me or are the 'minnows' playing rally well so far? anyone else surprised by the likes of namibia?
#3373808
@ sic - yeah i know....sucks, id like to see the wallabies and allblacks play the argies more often, and see our teams play in the SouthAmerican continent....totally different environment!
i mean, the ARU and the NZRU can afford it im sure and we kick the SA out for sending shit teams to our shores..

we should help out the south pacific nations more...and play matches against them more often, but theres alot of things that will not allow them to

@ earlyriser - im backing most of the small teams....except when they play OZ :P

England will be home before the postcards. Still cant decide who will be runner up. Dont think it will be the springboks, just not convinced about them. Wallabies probably. Wales will need a miracle to get through.

The "shit" team S-A sent to your shores nearly embarassed you. And there is no way in hell that Oz wouldn't have done exactly the same thing, in terms of guarding top players in a competition they'd already lost, had they been in the same position. I do think though that the Argies should be included - would be nice if they could be based in S-A for the competition making the travelling more fair to all teams.

I can quite safely say england should not unpack their suitcases as they will be flying home very soon.
That was shocking, no surprise south africa pounded them

wrong on both account, they're not on our shores, they're in France....and they did embarrass us.

I didn't watch the game, thank god, but a 36-0 white wash.

defeat was expected, but to not even get on the score sheet....a disgrace!!

to be honest, a thrashing was always on the cards. aside from the front row, they have an inferior lineout, backrow is decidedly average, mike catt clearly is just not capable of leading a side from first-five, farrell a questionable selection at inside centre, and aside from lewsey and robinson, the backline lacks test standard players.

i was quite pleased we beat wales, didnt think it was going to happen before the game started though.....and if we did, i thought it would have been alot tougher than what it was

I haven't seen a whole lot of rugby, so I was just wondering if rugby was as big as football in Europe? I did see a good bit of Australian rules football back in the day (thats similar to rugby isn't it?), but they don't really show that here any more. I did enjoy watching it though.
