Q about the French Foreign Legion..........

I have heard for some time that the French Foreign Legion is a place where a criminal or someone with a less than non-criminal past can join, serve their time, be discharged, and as a result be granted full French citizenship, no questions asked, and a clean criminal record. I've heard it can be a good place for a guy to just....dissapear, when the need to dissapear is potentially great. Is this true? How is the FFL different from the French Army, and do they get stomped all the time too just like them?

It is right that they would take you, depends WHAT you have done, they wont take murderers or perverts...
you become a new name, and after 5 years you get the french citizenship.
..a good place to disappear? , maybe IF they take you at moment, they take from 100 maybe 2-3.. so, they can look for the best ones. a lot russians want to go there cos they get payed better then in russian army. so, why should they take any criminal when they can get well trained soldiers?
your other question, the ffl is a independent part of the frensh army, and no 1 stomps on them

My dad did 11years in the FFL... now sits his arse on the pension, french pension. he wasnt a criminal just decided to join since his a badass anyway lol.

what do guys usually do after leaving the ffl?
does the french gov. guarantee a job or some pension?

You might heard about him.. he was also in parachute regiment and he was an mp.. legion name was Peters..

what should they do? i went back to my old job, if you stay longer then 5 years, yes, you get a lot support.

i heard years ago it was very bad in ffl, but its a very professional
regiment now, still does the dirty jobs that the french government
wont let the regular army do, but its still tough as fuk thou.

there a lot tourists in summer, and some woman like man in uniforms, if you know what i mean..

i dont want to steal ur show trust... but from what i heard from a friend from the french "colonial" islands, you gotta be as crazy as cannon fodder to join the ffl keep hearing stories about how they get the kinda jobs no man would ever dream of doing...hunting rebels and pirates in the middle of the jungle..

if u looking to be a badass serving on today's battle front id say ffl is as close as youll ever come
