I guarantee there's more to this story. How did the confrontation start? What part did you play in stirring all of this up? Judges are gonna look at all of this if you press charges or try to sue him.
Everyone who's saying this guy should get paid. Semi-pro cage fighters make less money then McDonald's managers. You sue someone with nothing you get nothing. A fight at a party isn't going to be looked at by a Judge as a serious enough crime to warrant prison or jail time. Party fights happen all the time due to the liquor and beer flowing, Judges know this and heavily take the situation surrounding the fight into account. Considering you also suffered no damages (at least none you mentioned) in the fight you also can't recover any medical expenses or anything else.
My advice, forget about it and for future problems learn how to fight, buy a baseball bat and next time hit him with it, get some friends who know how to fight or just don't go to parties where people want to kick your ass. Oh, and post a link to the vid here. Might be interesting.
