Negativity lately on the forum

Lately when I read an random topic some people think they have to put in negative comments to new users, negativity to elder users or mods. First of to let you all know, I will not tollerate this any longer and I will be easyer in disabling accounts then before. I have created this place to let people from arround the world enjoy things in life. NOT to bitch eachother on every thing you can think of.

In version 4.1, that will be available in the next 2 months, global mods will get the right to disable posting rights of any account when they think it is nessecary. There will be a system in place that will disable posting rights for an period in times and will result in negative scores.

We even thinkin of an greylisting system for urls that will store all urls that are posted on the forum to be checked if an user has less then certain amount of posts. So these can be checked by moderators before put online to decrease the amount of spammers.

That's a lot of power to give out. I assume you'll have an accountability system in place. Some mod deleted a couple of my posts just because they didn't like me, and no one ever figured out who it was. So I guess I'll get banned now.

In my profile it says that i've been a member since 1-16-05 but i've actually been around a lot longer than that. I had a previous profile, but due to some inactivity for almost a year I couldn't remember the login and password so I created a new one.
I can understand your frustration towards some of the "negativity" but i'm just looking for clarification on a couple of things you mentioned and to provide some "food for thought".
I have seen a ton of negative coments made also, some by "noobs" and some by demigods (and yes some by me) however I don't make negative comments toward pics that are posted, if I don't like it i'll just skip over and go to the next one. Now in the new versions with the ability to suspend posting rights, do you think that would really affect everyone? Or would it be mainly for the newer members? I have seen a lot of comments made by some people who have been here for a while that are just overlooked while the same comment made by someone with less posts would result in a total bashing by everyone. I'm just concerned that the only people this will apply to are the newer members.
On the topic of greylisting URL's, on paper this looks like a good idea. However I think it may cause more problems than good. I've seen posts lately about pics not being uploaded and mass deleting of pics toward one person. greylisting url's could result in the same type of incident only on a larger scale. I know the pic mods have a hard enough time keeping up with the number of pics uploaded and now we are going to throw in that someone has to pre-read all forum posts? (if my interpretation is wrong let me know) Do you intend on adding more mods to compensate for the increased workload?
What do you consider spam? Everyone seems to have a different definition for this.

although i agree with OB with the accountability system, one problem that is surfacing a lot is that specific people are feeling targeted for things that can not be proven or are not always real. there have been a few server crashes that deleted posts, a change of system that probably causes some bugs, but i still have to hear of a specific crew member that is mistreating people... Again if that is the case there should be an accountability system... And Diz i think you should really have a BAN button for crew members acting badly....

Is it possible that there is a hacker?

a MOD LOG would be cool, that could be accessed that says... 'blahblah crew member deleted post/reply titled 'blah blah silly sex' @ 0930hrs on 25/12/05...'

but yeah negativity sucks

im sure that diz has thought of the accountability side of it. im pretty sure not all of the globals will be getting this mod right anyways.

thanks diz, this will really help out with a lot of shit thats been going on lately

@ piromania - if diz really needed to, he could find out what anyone on this site has been doing, check their every move and every page they loaded

yeah i know so did i... but usually if its a mod it says who it is right on the thread.. in ur case it was some sort of magic disappearing act right? no one knowing what happened i mean

but without getting into ur case specifically, i still believe lots of people get ticked at things that happen to their posts and accuse mods without it necesarilly being due to a mod..LOTS of threads like that lately.

@Piromania: that could be a good idea for threads (if technicaly feasible without too much strain on the system). Diz could decide whether he shares it with everyone online or just a few of the global mods...

General feeling i get though is that we need a very active SuperMod... someone who has NO activities except to supervise complaints.. Kind of like a complaints department.. That person could consolidate complaints and requests and supervise moderator activities

I think the less people will have the ban button, the better it will work. Have in mind, that Crew Members are still only humans and have weaknesses like we all have. That's why in my opinion mods should only have the power to tell Diz who in their opinion deserves a ban, since he is the site owner and the last word should belong to him.

if diz were to create a mod log it would probably only be visable to mods just like a lot of other things, for good reason. though the mod has to be held accountable with diz/senja/fellow mods, we dont necessarily have to be accountable for the members at all times, since members rights are "limited". plus it singles mods out for pissed off members to be angry with or start unwanted shit. all of the mods like to support each other in our decisions, if not we discuss it in the office and make a decision from there. its not quite so simple as youd think

@ elfilipo - only diz and senja will still have the ban button. it will be a temporary thing when we do it

How often does Diz actually go back and see what his mods have been doing? I doubt the guy has time for it. If this ability is implimented, I would recommend that Diz actually start reviewing the actions of the mod so that there are no actions taken due to grudges or people flexing their wbw mod powers.

If global mod takes action, the system will send information all the information to diz and senja. It would be nice, if mod has to write his own side of view for banning a member and diz can see it right away. Do some neat coding Diz.

@ fefe: i personally thinks mods need to be accountable... u guys should have nothing to fear for doing your job.. thread got deleted cause its copyright? FINE no problem... it becomes a problem when things happen and the "limited" members that we are dont even know why or whom to ask for an explanation. u guys do a great job usually so why worry if the members know who deleted their thread?

@ Donkeypunchkid: I agree, again the issue is that Diz and Senja have LOADS to do... so does every SINGLE crew member but u cant run a tight ship if the same people are running all over the place to keep things going. Crew members are not paid right? So why not take more people in, even temporarily? If u have a queue of 16000 pics that keeps growing im sorry but run a business where "orders" are backlogging like that and ur quickly out of business.

yeah no shit but it is about people (including Diz) not having time ==> what do u think the mods/crew spend their time doing... among other things moding ur pics, films and threads... or maybe u are saying diz doesnt care to review actions of mods? anyway i said wat i had to say as constructively as possible...

hope we all keep pushing to help this site and the crew behind it

You are trying to make it sound as if they need more pic mods. They don't. It is a holiday season so I am sure that most of the mods are busy with family. I am saying that Diz seems to be very busy making changes to the site. So busy that he may not have time to review the actions of the mods which he may need to do if he implements this change. As for modding, yes I know what they have to do.
