mp3 players which ones to avoid?

Rockn' I really dont think there is a great difference in pricing anymore, not over here at least. A lot depends on the size of player you want.

An 80gb ipod will knock ya back around £250, whereas a 60g creative will hit ya for £190. iriver dont seem to go bigger than 20gb and seem to selling at £160. Looking at that, i would say its a toss up between the creative and the ipod in terms of value for money.

But saying all that, i got my 60gb video ipod off ebay for £50

i just bought an Archos Gmini XS202s - 20GB hard drive mp3 player, and it's the dogs boll**ks it was £139 but i saw them on Amazon last night for £108 + free delivery! the sound on this is just mind blowing!! ive put 2000 tunes on it so far in WMA format and ive still got space for another 4000 tunes minimum!! what i like most about this player is that this model just plays music!! but they do make bigger versions like 80GB upwards for watching films on and viewing pictures on. you can also use the Gmini as a data back up/storage drive for a pc and partition the hard drive etc etc. it's the best thing ive bought since ...my Les Paul!!

30GB 5th gen iPod is 300 euros in Finland. I need to think about of buying some player, and which one.

thats about £180? I think... Might aswell go for the 80gb or the creative 60gb then.... Or check ebay like i did.

I think it's more close to £200. And I'm not that rich to pay huge amount of euros for mp3 player. I think the 30GB version is more than enough. I guess the 6GB is enough for listening music.

get an iaudio m3l or anything newer from cowon, but skip the m5 series. it's the best i've ever had.

i've had iriver, creative, archos and JoS *pretty exclusive*, but i'll never go back.

I'd avoid all including Ipod crap and get a Creative Zen Vision M.

As for players, my friends that can afford it have all gotten ipods, the ones on a strict budget have all gotten sandisk. Thought some have gone to these cell phone/music players that have come out recently.

I have no idea about USA posting fees or such. But not a bad idea though.

I was thinking about Creative Zen Vision:M player, quite good reviews all around the web, and it's only 240 euros. Which is ~60 euros cheaper than 30GB iPod.

i recently bought the philips 8gb player, nanos are 200 bucks and so was this, double the memory, you bet ill buy it. ive had no trouble with it so far, and i fit every single one of my cds on it, which is around 160ish.

i have the zen m series and it works great, sounds better, even the factory headphones are great and the battery last a lot longer than the ipod. it cost 249 plus taxes

I'm not buying another iPod...mine went bezerk about a month after the one year warranty expired.

i have 4 ipods, luv'em
