Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Loz on this one. There are plenty of big-bonededed people that McDonalds advertises to.
For example, this commercial, that incidentally makes me seriously consider raping Thomas's (the one on the right) mother with a crooked broomstick, is trying to appeal to dudes like Thomas and Fernando.

What we are talking about isn't just fat people. We are talking about the continued dumbing down of America. Everyone is given a free pass and everyone is a victim and that's what we are teaching our children.
Everyone has a damned excuse. Everyone wants to take the easy way out.
I lost 80 lbs. Seriously. You know what? It wasn't that hard. Once I got in decent shape it was downright easy. You know what I noticed? All of these people would come up to me. "What's your secret?" "How did you lose the weight." Being the asshole that I am I responded with an equation. Honestly, that's the truth. Here it is:
Basal metabolic rate** + calories spent in some sort of movement or exercise - total calories consumed for the day = X
If your x is positive you will lose weight. If it is negative you will gain weight. If you want to lose 3 lbs in a week you will need to keep that X at or above 1500 every single day.
**basal metabolic rate is the number of calories someone at your weight burns doing nothing
There it is. The secret to losing weight. Want more? Okay, but only because I like you fuckers.
one pound of fat = 3500 calories
You want your bonus? Sure you do. We are fucking victims so everyone wants something for free. Water weight. Take your weight and cut it in half, that's at least how much water you should drink a day. Not coke, not tea, fucking water. Just do it because it works. You weigh 200? Drink 100 ounces minimum per day. If you do that you will "lose" some extra weight pretty quick when you first start your diet and work out. It's simply water weight. It will also keep you healthy and give your body the water it needs.
Everyone I ever told that is still fat. Want to know why? Because they're fucking lazy victims. They would rather do things the easy way. They'd rather go on the fucking "grapefruit diet" or the "amazon diet."
Weigh yourself every day and your weight can't possibly get out of control. You gained a lb yesterday? Fine, eat less today.
My personal fav, is to see some fat person usually a woman ordering fast food, I want a double this with extra of that and a large order of w/e o and a large diet coke. Why the diet coke? seriously why a diet coke?
I tell them to buy two treats, & then just slap one on each hip cuz that's where it's gonna go anyway!
But are people really getting fatter? The trend showing an increase in weight by Americans (in particular) has gone up in direct correlation with a movement from using body fat estimates to using BMI calculations. Body fat has a much higher correlation to physical health than BMI.
But calculating BMI is easier than actually measuring body fat. You just need height and weight, and a little math to come up with a number. BMI is a shortcut to trying to come up with a body fat estimate.
However BMI fails at this unless someone meets the criteria for the numbers used to come up with the baseline data. So someone with higher or lower bone density or someone with higher or lower muscle density or mass would fall outside the range for which the scale is meant to measure. Which is why the scale doesn't work for atheletes or those with osteoperosis.
Now, don't get me wrong. I am a fat fucker. I've eaten too much and gotten lazy the last few years. It's something that I'm working on correcting. However, let's look at some numbers of mine from a couple of years ago. I am about 5'9" (175 CM for you metric people) and I weighed 196 lbs (89 kilos). I worked a job that kept me phsically active all day. I did not lift weights or watch what I ate too much. I also had 12% bodyfat (normal range for men is between 14 and 18%). Using the BMI, I was still about 20 lbs from being "normal", and only about 6 pounds from being "morbidly obese".
The guy in the pic has 12% bodyfat, but a BMI of 28.9. And yes, I'm flexing to show off for my then GF who took the pic.
Be that as it may, I can't decide if we are getting fatter or not. Cities are increasing in population desnity, so we see more people. Not to mention the media allowing us to see people in other population centers. We then take all that inforamtion and make note of the ones that are exceptional and store them in our brains. Then we run a loose running total and come up with a number. It's like gay people - are there really more of them nowadays or do they just get more coverage? My point is, just because we see more fat people doesn't mean they make up a larger percentage of the population. We won't know unless we use consistent measurement standards. Now that most physicians use BMI, we will probably see a leveling off of the percentage of "obese" people in this country (the US).
well I guess I don't see this. I live in Florida and we have shitloads of super hot, super skinny, super athletic people here. No joke, so the fat people who live here would still know they're fat by comparison. Shit I've put on a couple pounds lately and I feel kinda fat although I'm no where even close to actually being fat. I'm just not in as good of shape as I'm used to being in. I guess if you live in a state/area where the majority is over weight then you could get jaded by all the fat people but here it's a constant competition to be in the best shape, the most tan, the richest, etc.
I've got a birthday beach party thing for my wife's best friend on July 7th so I'm right now tryin to kill myself to get back into shape. I don't diet I just murder myself with weights. The closer I get to 30 it seems like the harder I gotta work out. Used to be so damn easy to stay in shape. I'm still probably in better shape then the vast majority of people my age but in Florida there's always someone who's gonna make you look like a fat ass if you stand next to em, lol.
BMI and scales don't have anything to do with how "in shape" a person is. I am 6' and weigh 205lbs. I am much more solid now than I was 10 years ago when I weighed 185.
Also I live in South Florida where the population is either incredibly fit or a fatass. You don't run into too many "normal" folks much. I work out and try to stay in decent shape but I still have a bit of a beer gut(not too much I wear a 34-35 waist). If I go to the beach, every dude there is either some steroid-freak muscle guy or a lard butt. I'm just kinda stuck in the middle.
I'm 6'1" and I weigh around 180. I'm a 34 waist too davey. Weird, you must have big ass shoulders or somethin to have the same waist as me but be 25 pounds heavier.

i broke my neck and gained about 100 pounds lol...was a total lardass. I absolutely could not stand it.... anyway... with proper eating i lost 125lbs ... thats with simple proper eating (someone mentioned the caloric intake/metabolism ratio) and walking ...
I had a fucking broken neck and lost 125lbs ...even without being able to use weight training ... so i have ZERO sympathy for fatties ... i don't outright make fun of them ... but when i hear someone saying they cant get laid ... im the first to mention maybe its because they are FAT.
Being FAT is a direct result of LIFESTYLE that is CHOSEN... make no excuses ..if you wanna be fit ... you can continue eating trash at McDonalds ... you just have to work that much harder in the gym ..or walk that many more miles.
I agree with you choochoo although it is much easier for some then others. Some people can just eat all day long and anything they want and not gain a pound. Others can actually eat less then the recommended calories for their height/weight and still gain weight. So much has to do with metabolism and heredity. Still though the people who need to eat less need to do what it takes cause there's no excuse for walking around 300+ lbs or lookin like a beach ball.
Mmmmm, this is making me feel hungry.. anyone got any cake ?
