And on a more wider range about political correctness.

I personally believe in the "live and let live" prinsiple.

I don't mind you doing your way as long as you let me do it my way.

It applies to everyting, religion, political orientation, sexual orientation, taste on beer and women, you name it. I have and never will try to get someone do something the other way just because I think my way is better. If you want to drink Karhu instead of Lapin Kulta, go ahead. If you want to fuck men instead of women, go ahead. If you want to vote for communists instead of right extremists, go ahead.

Just don't fuckin try to get me do my things your way or I swear you will regret ever doing so!

I like this guy....

Thanx to all who added their comments. This is an excellent topic.
Yes, PC does get my back up.
It will get worst in time, i think.

Sweet holy jehosephat don't get me started on politically correct speech.

Okay, just for a second:

People who demand so-called "politically correct" speech should instead turn their focus on mastering the basics of what I fondly refer to as "grammatically correct" speech.

Interesting coincidence that I just got done ranting abour grammar on another thread not five minutes ago.

It's gone way overboard. You can't be politically correct without offending someone, somewhere. My motto is say whatever you want, if someone gets offended then oh well. If you hadn't offended them you would have someone else. That's all within limits though of course. Can't be going out onto the streets in harlem yelling racial slurs.

Yeah, but should it be illegal to go out into the streets of harlem yelling racial clurs? I say no. Let the locals take care of someone who does that.

And as far as those who say the US thinks they are the center of the world. Get a life. Just because US citizens get on a board and talk about their experiences doesn't mean it all of a sudden turned into a US board. If you are so pissed about that then get more of the people from your country to talk about their experiences. This thread didn't turn into "what is wrong with the US". It just so happens that there were more of us commenting at one point about the US because that is where we live and where our experience lies. You have the power to do the same. Start sharing your own experiences and how they relate to people. I am sick and tired of this US bashing bullshit when it is uncalled for. I could sit here all night and bash every other country around but I don't because I am more interested in how we are all alike than how I can point out your own countries pig headedness and stupidity. Until the other countries in the world get over this bullshit and actually talk to Americans like we know a little something, the other countries in the world will still be sitting there looking like they are playing sour grapes. We do not know everything, but neither do you. We can learn from each other but not until everyone else stops bashing the US just because they can.

Why should it come down? Just because they are offended? What if someone is offended by a mosque? Does it come down? What about racists offended by the presence of minorities? Do we go back to white-only lunch counters? If not, then you are picking sides which is worse than allowing people to be offended without prejudice.

Somewhere along the way the drive to stop officially sanctioned prejudice shifted to a drive to keep people from being offended, but during that drive someone forgot that it is impossible to keep everyone from being offended. In this you have to pick a side at some point.

id remove it cuz one minute it would be jus one person the next it would be his/her whole religious practice on the door!

i think everything has gotten too "one-sided" It seem atleast in America, one group HAS too be like the rest or your Anti-American, this isn't a good thing, this country was founded on Individualism and it is being slowly taken away buy groups such as the ACLU whom seem too have thier own priority in the way they feel America should be run.

I personally think such PC excpressions as "African American" are more racistic than the expressions they are trying to replace. It makes it sound like an American black guy is somewhat less American because he probably has his roots in Africa. And what about an Australian aboriginal living in Europe? What should we call him? African American? No, he's neither. Australian European? Now, come on. "Black" is only insulting if we discriminate black people. And "African American" is no less insulting in that case.

If I ever move to America, I don't want to be called "Caucasian" or "European American." I don't even know where the hell Caucasia is, and I'm not American. If you refer to where I'm from, I'm European. If you refer to my race, I'm white. Period.

Now, about the Swastika thing. Prohibiting use of symbols of groups like nazis is a violation to right to free speech and free print. Taking such degrading actions against groups that aren't commonly accepted is a step towards totalitaristic censorship, which is hardly commonly accepted. It further increases the hatred these groups have against organized society, effectively forcing these people to take radical actions to make their point.

I have too agree with you one that one Uber, funny story, i knew these two girls in college they came to the USA when they were kids. one was white and one was black, the white girl came from Africa, noone believed here when she said she was African American, becasue she was white "this pissed her off" as it is racists. the other girl was from an Island in the Virgin islands, she was always called African American, she got pissed off by this becase she has never been to Africa, and had no conection to Africa.

So basically is it better to give someone a title, just because we think they're from some where, no this is called discrimination.

So then it would be discrimination if we called all black Americans "African American"

Miracles do happen, I agree with BDD on something.

What I always found idiotic ahout PC-ism is that they try to make every equal by splitting them into groups.

Its interesting to hear that PC-ism is as bad overseas as here in America. We hardly hear anything in our news about it except when France banned all religous items in schools (thats the only one I remember hearing about). I'm glad were not the only country spiraling into insanity.

As for businesses say Happy Holidays it makes sense. Ex. If a black guy comes up to a register you don't know if he is Christian, Jewish, Muslim, celebrates Kwanza, is buddist or a Satanist(not sure what they celebrate this time of year), so saying Happy Holidays at a business if you don't know the person makes sense. I think the anti pc people are running to the extreme on this issue.

As for the ACLU, take away there government funding and I'd like to see how long they'd last.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas or Holiday so we can all come back here for boobs and pussy next week.

I feel if I go a day without offending someone then I am not doing my job. Critical thought requires someone to be offended. Vanilla is good in ice cream, not in life, and PC leads to a plain vanilla world.

I don't know how it is in the rest of the world but in the US you can not point out that those left in poverty normally are there through their own choices. They quit school early, have kids young, and make tons of other choices that limit them. But it is racist to point that out because a majority of those people are black. Whites do the exact same thing so I feel I am pointing out a failure in particular humans, not particular races of humans.

Ok, Here is my two cents.
Why do Non-Christians celebrate Christmas, It a celebrations about the
birth of the Christ Child. Even if You try to change it to the Holiday season
junk, still the same old holiday. If you don't believe in it, don't celebrate it.
And if you are a Buddist who gets told Merry Christmas, Answer with something
Buddist. I know Wiccans sometimes say Goddess Bless and that really wouldn't offend
me if You were honestly trying to be nice.

This is where I will get hassled, I don't think Christmas should be a organized
Holiday, it would probably get more respect that way. People who celebrate Hannukah
or Kwanzaa don't get extra time off and they still get things done. By making it public, people expect that it will somehow magically involve them, when really it shouldn't.

As for the whole PC thing, I liken the whole thing to taking the taste out of a steak, because you are against eating meat but you still want to eat and you don't think anyone else should enjoy it either.
Basically taking everything down to the lower common denominator.

Merry Christmas Everybody, Now if You'll excuse me I have to go smack a Woman on the ass, Call her Babe
and kiss her without asking.
