and you?

lol, just wanted to post something here. :P

anyway, got an AMD Athlon 1800+ overclocked to a 2200+ (running at 1750 mHz stable) on a MSI motherboard. inside I have 2x512 DDR memory, a GeForce III titanium 500 (will be changed for a Radeon 9800 or a GeForce FX 5900 soon), an SB Live 1024, a simple 3Com NIC and a 200 gigz HDD from WD
just thought I'd share that with you guys

I would go for the radeon of ATI.. I don't like n-vidia at the moment. But your system looks very Damnnn hot!

Oh well.. I have 5 computers. I'll just list the specs for my workstation.
It's a 2.1 GHZ Thunderbird wielding a fierce GeForce 2 Pro - Converted to a Quadro (do a search on it) I've got 512+256 MB pc133 RAM and a Soundblaster Live and personally I think NVidia rocks as they as it seem to me are the only company offering decent support and compatiliby. I've also got a huge dick </sarcastic>

nah.. it's okay but it does need a bit of tweaking. like the AGP for instance. NVidia has been screwing around a lot lately and to be honest, at the moment, ATI's simply better.
but hey, in the future, I might add some watercooling, making my rig go even faster if I want . got normal cooling at the moment so I'm a bit reluctant to drive my FSB up even more (atm at 12.5/13 multiplier with 144 FSB if I'm correct, can go to 164 tho ) and I would really want to make some nice holes in my rig, put some lights in it and stuff and get a nice, groovy look :P

ahwell, I'll take some pictures when it's all done

Ah .. cool .. you should get a varpo-chill constant -41 degrees celcius boo-ya

I really don't see the need for 5 pc's
I have 3 to be honest, tho 2 are completely torn apart for parts but my main rig is where I'm always at can't divide myself into 3 or more (tho chicks would love that ) so I don't really see the point.
I do want to build another new rig. one with newer stuff in it (this one is a year and a half old ) so the old one can function as a server for mp3's, movies, programs and the like :P lol

Well, I've got one laptop, one workstation, one web/file server and 2 renderservers
Oh yeah and I *never* throw hardware away..
And good idea with the mp3, movie etc. local server.. that is allways nice especially if you live together with other computer users.

-41 degrees? Celcius or Fahrenheit?
-41 is a LOT but that could never be watercooled. is it liquid nitrogen or something?

hmmm... I've seen some good ones tho. Klax seems to have some good sets.
I also need to find out how I can overclock my GeForce III. I've heard that ti 500's aren't that great to overclock, but a few mHz's would be nice

That is liquid nitrogen cooling, system made by an ex-Danfos guy. costs like 500£

why local?
I live alone so it would be a fileserver for everybody hell, I'd might even make it available for you guys. not a great upload (384kbit) but it's better then what I had before and I've *really* been downloading a lot lately. estimating about 50 gigz the last half week
#1512
Lvl 13
Ah - I just understood you wrongly then online fileservers cool.

Lvl 16
pfff well, I had estimated about 200 to 300 euro's for the watercooling, but 500 pounds is a LOT of money...
I've seen some great results with it tho. someone overclocked a petnium 4 3,2 gHz to 5.something gHz. that's a LOT of increase in speed...
but the mobo was totally frozen when they poured the LN in .

nah, watercooling will do fine some nice Klax stuff, I've also seen some others but I gotta take a look at my work for those. did find it somewhere but forgot to send it home
ahwell, tomorrow a new day and all

Lvl 16
yup. I'd might even buy another 200 gigz HDD with it just for the server, but then I would require a larger upload and some way to keep the RIAA off my back haha

hmmm just thinking here: everybody with above 75 posts will get a free account on my new-to-build server :P
PM me for IP, username and password (lol, no PM available atm, no server atm and no free accounts, but the idea is nice )

good idea!!

this is just spam to get to 75.

i only have 17 posts!

if youre interested in any reviews http://www.tomshardware.com/ has a bunch of reviews about everything and they are really honest. they reviewed that vaop-chill deal and its pretty much the guts from a freezer/fridge set up for a computer, compressor and everything. here's a self-contained water-cooling setup, thermaltake's aquarius III http://www6.tomshardware.com/business/20030925/computex_2003_2-10.html

yeah I know Tom's site . I also use www.anandtech.com, www.hardocp.com, www.hardcoreware.net, www.dvhardware.net, www.gideontech.com, www.tweakers.net, www.tweaknews.net and www.modasylum.com to name a few
I've seen a REALLY nice mobo for my next rig which I will definately buy

I'VE GOT A AMD ATHLON 2100+ OVERCLOCKED TO A 2200+ WITH 256MB CORSAIR MEMORY AND A ATI RADEON 9500 WITCH CAN BE OVERCLOCKED TO A 9700 PRO. RUNS VERY STABILE TEH OVERCLOCKING TAKES A BIT RISK BECAUSE YOU CAN GET A CHACKERS SCREEN. 9500 IS THE SAME AS A 9700PRO WIH THE SAME AMOUNTS OF PIPES. CHECK TWEAKERS NET

grig, please... your capslock?
carracer: I saw a DFI NFII Ultra. extremely well overclockable, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat looking and not too expensive either.
it's an older mobo but still very nice. not capable of running an AMD64, but it has the NForce II and had been clocked by AnandTech to extremes .
check it out at www.lanparty.com.tw
