My new year's resolution, which I am going to keep, is to work out, diet, exercise and do anything and everything possible to gain a godlike body as fast as I can. I am 37 and a few pounds overweight as it is now. But after a certain age, you just can't get a godlike body anymore. I am not near that age yet, but let's just say I had better not put it off forever at this point.

What is the best way to do this? I have an exercise bike and a set of freeweights and a workout bench, so that should be everything I need. I've been thinking of doing a serious near-death run every day at least once, then work out every other day with the weights to the point of being completely exhausted. If I'm going to do this I may as well do it full tilt and stop at nothing.

Why? Because let's face it, if you don't have the looks, you don't get any attention from women (ie. you do not get laid). Unfortunately for me I am not rich, musically talented or highly educated so that pretty much just leaves me with my looks to work with which, when I am thin enough, aren't bad at all. I used to get laid all the time. I admit I let things slip a little, but the second I did, I literally fucking ceased to exist to women. Try it, you'll see what I mean. I don't blame them, I wouldn't want to fuck me as I am now. If you're single you are a piece of meat and the only way to get laid is to keep up with the competition. I intend to blow them out of the fucking water. I absolutely WILL Keep this up until I get laid. It's been way, way too long, and I am again going to fucking see female breasts outside of a strip club before I die. I don't give a fuck WHAT it takes.

The guys who starred in 300, even the old guys, all had to work out for about two months before shooting began. That is what you can do in two months, my friends. The guy who trained them said he never gave them the same workout twice, meanin, despite what you had drilled into your head over the years, "programs" don't get you better results. So has anyone else done this kind of thing?

try doing some cock pushups, its where you lay down flat and let your boner lift you off the ground. you only need one.

seriously, dont burn yourself out and dont hurt yourself. people cant just go from overweight to "300" overnight. its not healthy and youll probably not succeed in the long run. take it easy and try to step up your workout over reasonable intervals.

Hire a personal trainer. Seriously.

The absolute stupidest thing you could possibly do is to try to throw yourself into a grueling workout that your body isn't meant to take. The training the actors underwent for the movie "300" was extremely carefully laid-out for EACH person as their bodies responded individually.

If you REALLY want to get in shape as quickly as possible and get a 6-pack of abs, you'd have to be prepared to spend a ton of money on a personal trainer, especially to do it properly. Do NOT, under any circumstances, try to tackle something that rigorous and monumental on your own. This is your life I'm talking about.

I don't have the body of an Adonis or anything, but I work out at least 3 days a week and do a decent amount of weights along with aerobic machine for 20 minutes. I generally do 3 sets of 10 or 12 reps on each machine (NOT maxed out, of course) and I like to think I have a nice and solid body. I get a lot of compliments from women, so I'm doing something right.

Besides, not all women go for a guy with an American Gladiators type of body. Also, looks only go so far with women. If you want to get laid, make 'em laugh. Works every fucking time, I'm not kidding. Be yourself and the rest follows.

Your idea is not a good one, as has been explained. Also, you may not be built for a "300 body", but then again they were more cut than anything else; fairly scrawny I thought, not really my personal goal, but to each his own. Whatever the goal, genetics will be a real limiter

A good trainer is good advice, though there are plenty of lousy ones out there so don't think you can just get a membership at any gym and hire their guy on staff. The BEST part about a trainer when you are starting out (first 2-3 years) is that you'll have an absolute appointment so you'll actually go. Most folks can make 6-12 weeks on their own but few make it 6 months.

Get a good physical, including a full hormone workup. If you aren't at the upper end of normal at your age and your GP won't help, seek advice from an endocrinologist or an anti-aging doc. DO NOT DO STREET AAS - it is not worth the risk to your health, nor to your freedom - but you can be dealing with an "exercise" in futility if your test is low.

A solid diet is crucial - many trainers can help, most can't. As a start, figure your maintenance calories by weighing yourself and logging your diet (use a good kitchen scale to weigh EVERYTHING you eat) for calories and grams of "macros" (protien/carbs/fat). Do this for a week or two to get a good number. One good approach is to then assume that with your new workout, if you are mostly interesting in cutting and firming ( "300" ) you will keep overall calories the same, but schedule your diet based on a 40/40/20 (protein/carbs/fat as % of calories).

Use your weight to gauge the grams of protein and carbs - if you weigh 200lbs, then 200 grams of each. Fat has about twice the calories per gram of the others, so to get 20% of your calories from fat you'd want 50 grams of fat. That works out pretty well for someone with a maintenance of about 3000 calories a day. Plan your diet - lots of chicken breast, tuna, lean beef, whole grains. Eat often - every 3-4 hours. Start the day with your cardio - do it before your first meal of the day. Make sure you are well fueled before lifting, and get protein and carbs immediately after lifting.

You can get good gains in strength and endurance for the first 3-4 months, but other than weight loss you won't realize much in appearance during that time if you are just starting out. Unrealistic expectations are the biggest enemy. The first few months are actually more about your body becoming accustomed to exercise and your nervous system adapting to new physical tasks. The stuff they say about what the stars do and accomplish in short periods of time are: (1) lies (2) based on stars, who are already freak of nature winners of the genetics lottery with respect to appearance, metabolism, etc. (3) not starting from couch potato status and finally (4) in most cases apparently based on the best juice Hollywood money can buy, either from corrupt trainers/doctors or perhaps even done while in countries where it is not illegal (why so many folks train in places like Thailand).

Another approach is to work on a program like this: http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Navy-SEAL-Fitness/dp/1578261716/[blacklisted]sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199237142&sr=8-2 - this guy is a former SEAL who now trains guys in preparation for BUDS. "SEAL fitness" may be more like the "300" look you are seeking than traditional gym approaches. There's a pre-pre BUDS course included in the book for those starting from "0". It is a low body fat high cardio approach with some upper body development of mostly calisthenic type as opposed to weight training. To guys like these upper body development beyond what is required to climb walls, ropes, do pullups and stuff is just excess kit to be humped through the weeds.

Thats got to be some of the most pitiful shit I have ever heard! Get off your ass and move! All it takes is to walk or jog consistantly 1 hour a day. Watch your diet dont buy stock in pig skins and be active! Thats it! You will slim up If you want to buff up then get on the weights! If you want to become attractive (if your not already) then contact a local plastic surgeon! But on the real get r done exercise It takes time but youll get to the place you want to be it just takes work.

If you want to lose weight start a 2k calorie a day diet. Eat 6 meals a day totaling up to 2k calories. The average metabolism actually burns roughly 2700-2800 calories a day and that's just a resting metabolism. If you started walking or working out you'd slim down extremely fast.

Not at 37, even if he has prior service.

ask you doctor about a diet or someone in that field that he would recommend to help you
with a proper diet that will work for you. go talk to different personal trainers and find
one that you feel comfortable with and that you feel drives you and has a workout plan thats
right for you. above all you must be ready to commet to this, because this is about changing
your lifestyle as well as your body. also realize you may never attain a body like those on
300. you must be happy with what you body can become. good luck and make the commetment.

the guys that were in 300 most of them were stunt men and they keep themselves in good shape so the work out that they did was successfully because they were already build. This includes Gerrard Butler (not sure of the spelling). He also said in his interview that they work out was so intense that his body craved it and when he stopped for a while because of the stress his body endured he lost it all and went into depression where he had to train his body to normal again.

You can't just jump into a grueling workout its nuts and not healthy as most have said. You need to do it over time. Proper eating and proper workout, and cardio creating a good balance. Also what works for me won't work for you so you need to find your own workout that will give you the results.

a for sure way to succeed is to do it for yourself and not for someone else.

good luck

I once read an article where nutritionists said everyone is capable of a 6-pack, in fact most people already have one. Sadly, it's hidden from view by a layer (or 2!) of fat. All the sit-ups/crunches in the world won't reveal your toned stomach area if your diet doesn't help you lose the fat.

This in incorrect you can join the military up to age 37 and if you are older than 37 you can get an age waiver up to 42
it is at follows:

Army max age 37 or 44 with age waiver
Marine max age 37 or 42 with age waiver
Navy max age 34 or 42 with age waiver (and you can not be active duty but you can be full time reserve)
Air Force max age 27 or 34 with age waiver
Coast Guard max age 27 or 34 with age waiver

if you are prior service you can get it up to age 50 if your prior MOS falls under critical.
note that entry level separation with less than 180 days of service does not cont as prior service. you had to be in 181 days or longer, at that point you should not have an entry level separation on your DD-214.

as for losing weight fast this is a method used by the military for people that need to lose weight fast, for things such as heart surgery or in some cases to pass a final tape/weigh in (rope and choke)

this is easy to follow and works fast.
1 - you need 1 gal of distilled water
2 - about 8 lemons 1 cup fresh lemon juice)
3 - 1/4 to 1/2 cup of organic maple syrup

mix this up in the gal of water and drink up. the energy you need is from the maple syrup, the lemons help you to burn fat. you will need to dump out some of the water to to add the lemon juice and syrup. taste like lemonade

you can drink as much as you want per day, but you have to drink at least 1 gal every day.
you eat nothing else this is your food for the next 4 to 7 days. (never more than 7 days)

once you have completed the number of day you have set. you then start off the fist day back on food with things such as salad, water melon, fruits.
by the time it is dinner you will be able to eat normal. you just need to give your body a bit of time to figure out you are eating and it needs to digest food again.

we have had many people do this and i my self have done this. i lost 5 inches on my waist in 4 days. i had a 17" neck and a 33.5" waist after i was done and it was enough to take me from 29% body fat to 23%.

this will not give you a body of a god bu will allow you to have better place to start. there are hundreds of military members that looks over weight but still run 5 miles 3 times a week and pass their PT test. the military will tell you that you should have between 19 and 21% body fat but will allow up to 26% (Army, USMC) (navy, Air Force is 25%) i find this funny that the navy and Air Force have less then the two branches that do 10x more PT but that is why I am sure. Air Force PT is not hard and only have a PT test once a year, Same with the Navy. Now for the Navy and Air Force in here i have been told they are supposed to tighten up on your PT test but have not heard if they have started it yet.
