Well I guess organs are worth way more than plasma/semen and organs trafficking already exists. So I'm not sure this comparison is relevant.

I know it's not exactly the same (mainly because those donations are regenerating in the donor), but the point remains that you can get a lot of money for lots of different things, and in almost all circumstances the value of them goes up when you make it illegal to sell them.

Organ trafficking exists in the same way drug trafficking exists. There's a large demand for a product that is currently made illegal. If you make it legal legitimate businesses sweep in, the supply goes up, the costs go down, and everyone gets what they want.
