Once upon a time I read an article about women being unable to be raped if they wear jeans, said by some judge that freed some guy from rape charges. Because it's impossible to remove jeans from somebody that's unwilling.
Read that article yesterday and it floored me. I've taken Rio off my list of places I would like to visit someday.
Really hope World Cup and Olpics take a good hard look at their decision.
So 66% (at least) of those people who answered the poll are complete morons. Well, it's not that far from my personal assessment about people in general...
Go on.
( This I gotta hear.)

This is one of those moments where you think you know what's going to happen next...and hope like hell you're wrong.

I was gonna give AZ the chance to explain himself, because while we haven't seen eye to eye on everything in the past; I didn't believe him to be this misogynistic.

A lot of people think it is ok to do a lot of illegal and immoral things. Hopefully those in charge of enforcing and making the laws don't agree. Look at what happened in Egypt where the US news reporter who was gang raped in the streets. Some Egyptian women rescued her but obviously the men didn't think they were taking much of a risk. Then there are the gang rapes in India that have made the news lately. The terrible way the Taliban treat women in Afghanistan. Really would help if many women would not want to be subservient to men, but around the world women attack other women for the way they dress and act. Women can be their own worst enemies. Maybe if women united and demanded respect then things would change. But a lot of women are jealous of each other or want to follow a strict religious lifestyle and if other women don't do the same then they are whores, sluts etc. If men of these countries don't respect women then women have to be willing to unite and demand respect

Don't even think of trying to turn this around on women, and make it solely our responsibility to educate men that rape is bad. Yes, some women in some countries have been known to attack other women for the way they are dressed, but they don't rape them. Maybe not in all countries, but women all over the world stand up and join together to speak out about rape...daily. Ultimately its mens responsibility not to do it, what is so hard about keeping your penis in your pants and not act like a fucking animal?
But societal attitudes do matter, which is why Brazilian study is worth being upset over. The ultimate responsibility rests with men to treat others (including women) with respect but the unfortunate truth is that there are bad people; if a society doesn't totally condemn rape then it will encourage some to believe they can get away with it.
