Hey boys, what are some awesome albums that you think other memebers here should know about? And this requires a little bit of effort on your part. Think before you post.

And here are albums I am currently spinning.

Mare - Mare EP - A Short 5 songs, but damn are they great songs. This is one of those albums where you have to listen to all the songs in a row or it just doesnt sound the same.

Regina Spektor - Soviet Kitsch - At first when you start to listen you think "oh, another Michelle Branch." but then once you do listen you feel like there should be a boxing match between Michelle Branch and Regina Spektor and Ms. Spektor would beat the living snot out of Michelle Branch.

Department Of Eagles - The Whitey On The Moon - Just listen. There are songs on their site and it's pretty damn good if I do say so for myself.

Okay, dont want to over whelm, but there are a few.

now what do you think is an album that is a must own?

must own albums would be classics . Led Zeppelin 4 .

Dredg - El Cielo or Leitmotif (both wicked, great production and songwriting and structure)
Michael Jackson - Thriller (He's a total whack job now...but if you're an artist that's an album to look up to and try to reach that level of greatness)
Tool - Lateralus (I could go on for a long time as to why this album is a must own, just go get it)
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon (Perfection)
Metallica - Ride The Lightning (that perfect balance between great songwriting and shreddin the shit out of the guitar)
Pantera - Great Southern TrendKill (The Reason Heavy Metal Shredding didnt die out after the 80's)
Nirvana - Nevermind(The opposite of the above album)
K-OS - Joyful Rebellion(WOW!!! modern day hip-hop doesn't have to suck...who knew?!?)
Refused - The Shape Of Punk to Come(it showed that you could have outstanding musicianship, great songwriting, top of the line production and engineering and still sound like the dirtiest, loudest most aggresive punk albums of all time)
Weird Al Yankovic - Bad Hair Day (Because it makes me laugh)

Let's open our minds... (5 in no particular order)

The Legendary Marvin Pontiac, Greatest Hits - which is strange since he only ever made 1 album. He was hit and killed by a bus in June 1977 after spending months in a mental institution. He was born in 1932, the son of an African father from Mali and a white Jewish mother from New Rochelle, New York. The father's original last name was Toure but he changed it to Pontiac when the family moved to Detroit, believing it to be a conventional American name. Buy the CD and learn the secret of Marvin Pontiac.

Tricky - Blowback. This Massive Attack co-founder has gone on to make his own brand of trip-hop music. Blowback is probably the best example of his work. Dark, brooding, and totally chilled.

Curve - Cuckoo. Although anything by Curve is good, Cuckoo is my current fav. Totaly ignored in the US, and now sadly defunct, this band brings soulful vocals to a techno beat. Think Eurythmics without the commercialization.

Bliss - Quiet Letters. A soundtrack to a movie you've never seen. You won't find more chilled-out music anywhere. The Danish/Swedish/African group has had very little output, but has contributed music for shows such as CSI. I had to order this one through Amazon.jp. Well worth the wait and shipping.

Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet. The quintessential hardcore rap album. The production and intelligence of this CD should be the gold standard by which today's rappers should be meaured.

There... I've said my peace.
