Floor and wing vents. Didn't need A/C back then, plenty of flow-thru ventilation.

FM adapters: There was only AM radio for decades, so when FM radio came along people bought a little adapter about the size of a deck of cards, plugged it into the back of your AM radio, and voila, you had AM/FM radio,

When oil came in cardboard cans and you needed a bottle opener to change oil.

Granny/creeper gears: A very low 1st. gear in your average work truck. Not seen since trucks have been wussified.

Carburetors: Really don't miss those fussy things at all.

Three-on-the-tree shifters: Not on the floor, where God intended them to be, but on the steering column for some silly reason.

Bias-ply tires: Horrible in the snow. Horrible in the rain. Just plain horrible.

Manual steering and brakes: About the time men turned wimpy(late 70s/early 80s) all vehicles featured power steering and brakes.

That's all that comes to mind right now. Please feel free to add your own.

four wheel drum brakes!

rear engine, rear drive, for those times when steering wasn't that important.

HIGH OCTANE was at least 105...and not AV GAS...or how about Tachometers ....from sun or the like not installed as a standard item ....no one uses them for what they were intended ...so the question "What was a tachometer used for ?" no cheating and to know what your engine RPM was doesnt count either DUH!!!!

They made those fairly recently, I think. YJ Wranglers had them, and they were produced up until 1995.
