What's the best way to go about getting an honest easily-read insurance quote?
Do you have an agent now ? If so, call them. Then can punch int the info over the phone and let you know in minutes.
If not, call an agent and make an appointment. Use someone reliable. It doesn't matter who at this point because you can't shop quotes for a specific vehicle until you know the vehicle. What you want are quotes from a single insurer for different vehicles.
Give the agent all the information (personal) and ask him/her to run quotes on different models. Don't forget to specify the years you are looking at. She/he should be able to fax or email you a quote list. You will waste a lot of time online if you try to do this the hard way.
While companies view people differently, cars are objective. In other wotrds, all underwriters use the same data on theft, safety, depreciation, etc. I don't know what state you live in. If it's New Jersey, things will be a lot different. I insured a car there once and it was a pain in the ass.
Call a major insurer (e.g. Allstate, State Farm, Fireman's Fund, Farmers, etc) and have them run multiple quotes. Its easy.
