a grand national would have no problem putting out those numbers, or a stealth....domestics rule the drag strip, always have, always will....and i laugh at all the kids saying imports are 'catching' up, what a fucking joke

This wasn't a pissing contest. Besides, can your grand national take a corner at faster than 40 with the locked rear end and the 60-series tires? It's about a different style of cars; a different era; a different generation. Not to mention that a dodge stealth is a mitsubishi, and on top of that the stealth R/T had 222hp, and it was twin turbo.

It wasn't ever the import idea to rule the dragstrip. I go to the strip to practice launches and get my time right, and you can't really dyno-tune a turbo'd car. I tuned for three years at a presegious shop; let's please not get into this here. I've dyno'd 'em all, buddy. I'd rather autocross any day than drag stip it...Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

There are dozens of daily-driven 700-800hp 300z's out there, that in addition to being fast, sleek, well-handling, and not to mention they don't look like a trailer park car. (not to diss trailer park boys -- i love that show). There are street legal 1000hp+ z's just as much as their are GN's. Buick didn't make magic dude, it's turbos and metal. The interior of those looks like ron burgundy's apartment.

I'm not a fan of civics and crx's, either. But the kids start somewhere and some act a fool, sorry. Guess that no slitz-drinken, wife-beatin, meth-makin dragstrip gear head ever got in a bleacher fight, did they?

Besides, why talk shit on a JAPANESE TUNING THREAD. Go outside naked if you're that desperate for attention.

Veilside C2 Kit, Fully Molded, Shaved, 19's, painted House of Color Pearl Tangelo, Roll Cage, Dual 3" exhaust, ..., too tired to list.

and how many REAL GN's do you see rolling around? How much $$$ is involved in finding a GN and modifying it? OK, now how about getting a CRX and dropping a B18c5 in it and turbo'ing that? You will have a car pulling 11's for around 12 grand. That is why imports are popular. btw, a Stealth is really an import, it is a 3000GT with a different body kit. Nothing like making a point for the other side because you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

I am from Scotland and this is my Honda Civic. It was a stock `97 Tornado when i bought it. I took the stock 1.4i 90bhp out and dropped in the H22 2.2 VTEC approx. 200bhp, plus nearly everything else from the Accord sir. The Accord was a writeoff that i got very cheap from a scrap car dealer. I`v changed the stock suspension and put in Spax RSX fully adjustables. I ripped all the seats out apart from the front 2 and all the interior trims apart from the dash. I was meant to install 1x15" DBaudio sub, 2x10" Infinity subs, 2 pairs of 6x9`s and 3x1000W + 1x600W Kenwood amps but can not be bothered as i am refusing to pay a rip off company to do the work for me. I changed the front headlights to BMW style halo/angel eyes and sprayed the rears with a smoked paint. The rear bumper just my original bumper with the bottom half of the accord bumper stuck on, flushed and painted. I`ll post more pics of the work on my bumper in my next post. The wheels are Advanti Racing 15"`s that i got powder coated for £30 each. I dont know what kind of exhaust it is as it was given to me from a friend, it needed some cutting up to fit between my bumper and control arm. What i need to buy next it a poly bushes and a camber kit because i have lowered the car quite alot and the inside of the tyres wears faster than the rest. I haven`t used the car in the last year because i cant afford to insure it but i am not goin to sell it. If anything i`ll put it on a trailer and take it to track days until i can afford to get it back on the road.

This is the making of the rear bumper, from using my original and adding onto bottom with accord bumper. There was no cutting of my civic bumper. I kept my bumper on and placed some cans of paint on the ground. I cut what i thought i needed off the top of accord bumper and placed the bottom part around mine so it sat ontop of the paint cans, and screwed it into place for the time being. It fitted pretty much perfect apart from some trimming on the return to the wheels. The inside between the 2 bumpers was filled with expanding foam and the outside was filled with fibre glass and cataloy then painted after some smoothing of course. I need to do the side skirts and front bumper so i can lose those black strips on the corners (and eventually the ones on the doors) and bring the rest of the car level down to the level of the back bumper. It might take me awhile, but at least i can say i made it and not just walked in a shop and payed for it all like some people who walk around acting all big cos they paid for a nice car. What happens when something gets broken? At least i can fix it.
