Well cobbas, I thought it fair dinkum to give ya an insight into the difference between a Pom and a true blue. First up, the aussie bar lingo followed by the (none east enders) interpretation.

G'day mate!
Pleased to make your acquaintance.

You little ripper!
Words of praise fail me.

Rack off!
Your presence is no longer required.

Fair dinkum.
Of course I am telling the truth.

Pull ya head in.
You may be correct in your assertion, but please speak no further.

Wanna rage ?
Would you like to drink large amounts of alcohol until we both drop?

You drango...
You rather dim-witted chap...

Your shout!
Your turn next to buy the drinks, dear boy!

Go on...
I am not entirely convinced you know what you are talking about.

Whatdayawant?
Might I enquire about your needs?

You pong...
Dear me, we do smell, don't we?

Howya going?
May I inquire about your well-being?

Give it a go, ya mug !
Are you perhaps incapable of performing this task?

Well, Aus was populated by convicts from England, When they were shipped out, they had branded on their arm P.O.M.E which translated was Prisoner Of Mother England. As time went by they were known as pomies.

I call lesbians between 10pm and 2am on Fridays. Lessies,

I dont know of ONE Aussie that drinks them unless they are:

a) shipwrecked and they wash on shore
b) the bottle shop has them on offer @ a buck a dozen
c) they are living in a foreign country and they are the closest thing handy

.

There was an Aussie magician on a cruise ship, and he was really good.

He was performing the highlight of his show when a parrot walked onstage and squawked, ''It's in his sleeve!''

The magician chased the bird away.

The next day the magician was performing his highlight again (in front of a smaller audience) when the parrot walked onstage and declared, ''It's in his pocket!''

The next day, as he was performing the highlight, he saw the parrot in the crowd. But before the parrot could ruin the magic trick, the boat crashed into a rock and sank.

The magician was lucky enough to find a board to hang on to. On the other end of the board was the parrot.

They stared at each other for three full days, neither of them saying anything, when suddenly the parrot said, ''I give up, what'd you do with the ship?''

A - Z of aussi-isms

A - B

Act - Pretending to be something you're not

Bag - Refers to a lady who is not particularly pleasant.

Barbie (Barbeque) - Like a cook out. Many people get together for a 'Barbie' in the warmer months. They are usually BYO (Bring your own) meat and drinks.

Barney - A fight or scuffle.

Beaut - Very good. Excellent.

Billy - Used for making tea in, usually over a campfire. The best billies are the old ones. They make better tea.

Black Stump - Out towards the horizon. A long way away.

Block - Block has a few meanings but the more Aussie one is your head, or piece of land (10acre block)

Bloke - A person - usually a male.

Bludge - Not doing anything or getting things of others. A bludger is the lowest form of pond life in Oz culture

Blue - A blue can be a fight or the nickname of someone with red hair.

Booze - Alcohol, usually beer.

Bush - Bush refers to somewhere in the country or away from the city.
