Removal of pictures (revisited)

Reasons of this thread:

Reason 1: the best pictures I posted are placed and removed with the speed of light.
Reason 2: two weeks ago I had the Top of the Babes (All Time) list in front of me. It was a sunny day, so I decided to go to the beach. When I returned I refreshed the page, and guess what? The numbers 2, 3 and 5 vanished before my eyes.
They had been there for over 4 months, longer I think. And I cannot imagine any valid reason to remove these pictures after such a long period of time.
Reason 3: when you ask WBW for the reasons of removal, you get the standard list (maybe double, maybe pro, maybe this, maybe that).
Reason 4: How can you be sure that picture reports are serious (e.g. not reported by some evil-minded person).
And how can you be sure that these reports are handled and checked seriously and accurately by WBW.

My proposal:
- a registration of these reports.
- a feedback by email to the poster with the reasons of removal.
- (maybe) a short period of time for the poster to respond to this feedback message.

My intention is not to get a long and tedious discussion about removal of pictures between WBW and the posters, but at this moment the posters are in the dark why a picture is removed and who reported it with whatever reason.

Seriously, we deal with thousands of pictures a week guy, we can't PM everyone every single time a picture has to be deleted, it's hard enough to mod picture as it is considering about 25% of uploaders actually follow the rules. We only delete pictures based on the "standard list" we don't go out of our way to randomly delete shit just to piss people off...Last week as a group we modded over 10000 pictures...there is still almost 30000 in queue. It's just too many pictures and too little time, we always gotta play it safe and we always do our jobs to the best of our ability. Im sorry a few pictures were deleted, suck it up old chap.

Like honda said, There are only a handful of mods here. Loads of pictures and little time.

The Mods do what they can with the time that they are on this site. If more people followed
the rules, there would be less of a job to do.

so what are they saying this site is to big for them?well you should suck it up.its your site your moderating. get more moderaters and quit holding on to an exclusive club. might get banned but thats how i feel.and i know i couldnt handle the job

I am not referring to the thousands of pictures being uploaded, but to the few that actually make it through and are placed, published (whatever you name it) on WBW.
And are removed again for some dark reason.

This reason of removal is of some interest to the poster who has uploaded these pictures.
He/She wants to know why a picture is first published and then removed from the site.

I even had a picture that made it to the number two position on the Top of the Babes (This Month) list, and also the Favourites of a lot of groupmembers.
The next day it was gone.
WBW could not give me the exact reason for this removal.

It would be ridiculous for us to email each person everytime one of they're pictures was deleted with a reason for deletion. Also contrary to popular belief, we make no guarantee with pictures. We do not guarantee that pictures will be accepted, we do not guarantee they will remain in the gallery. We remove pictures as need be, for whatever reason that may be.

If you do not like the way we run the gallery, then simply do not upload to the gallery, and post to the forum instead.

There is a very simple solution to this.

Rename the site "What Star Carlton Wants"

and aprove only my uploads.

not really. punly has a point. you have posted so many pro-pics, that i'm actually getting tired of your sorry ass. try to focus more on your pics before posting them and whine less at the feedback....

Not important to this discussion. Pro pics are already removed in the first round.
And I always try to follow the guidelines. So my opinion of a pro pic is different than yours.

This discussion concerns pictures that already on the gallery and removed after weeks or even months.

BTW you could automate the system I propose.

hey, how about you dont assume that you have even the slightest shred of an idea of what youre talking about.

i JUST hired 3 new picture mods to help out with the workloads about 2 weeks ago. exclusive club? i have no problems letting go any mods that are not performing their duties up to the standards that are set for them (within reasons), and when we need more moderators i hire them. there is no exclusive club.






@ the thread starter - the picture crew that i have right now currently moderates almost 20,000 pictures a week, and thats just the pictures that are in queue. you have no idea how many man hours it takes just to either delete or sort/catagorize/approve those pictures. we have almost 650,000 registered members, can you imagine informing every single one of them every time a picture was removed and why?

not only that but even if there were to be a field coded into our moderating tools that they could type into and it would be automatically sent to the member, you should know that would probably more than triple the time it takes us to moderate the amount that we are currently moderating.

not only that but that is not the only way that pictures are removed, obviously as you experienced and which is the reason for creating this thread. i currently have about 5 comment mods, a comment mod is someone that reads every single comment that is posted in the car galleries, news posts, poll comment section, babe galleries, and movie galleries. every comment that is made has to be read and moderated over to maintain the quality of what is kept on this site. sometimes people report them this way by leaving a comment letting us know they are pro or whatever else, and they are removed that way. i would assume on an average day the comment mods mod about 5,000 babe comments alone... forgeting about all of the others. can you imagine the time it would take to send out comments to all of THOSE people for THOSE pictures removed?

oh and again, another way the pictures are removed... by people using the reported pictures feature which is only done by the owner and his partner. so you know how busy they are working on making this site better and coding new features in? do you know how much time it would add to THEIR work day to have to type in a reason for the poster?




and as for your not liking punly's reply to your thread about there being no guarantee for your pictures being approved, im sorry but i have to say its too bad if you dont like it.

we have to choose, we have to choose what we're going to devote our efforts to.

the options go like this:

1. we put all of our effort to making sure every person who takes the time to upload pictures gets all of their pictures approved and stay in the system once approved

2. OR - we put all of our effort into making sure the galleries say clean of pros, reposts, underage, stamped, watermarked pictures





not only will i stand by number 2 all day long for legal reasons but because you have NO IDEA how many members do NOT follow the rules and upload so much shit it would make you almost sick after being a picture mod as long as i have. sure there are members that didnt know that picture they uploaded was a repost, but we cant do anything for that person can we? people upload at their own free will, no one asked them to do so, therefore we make no promises about it.

dont talk to my moderators about their methods as if we're the fucking problem in this situation, we're here to help


you upload those pictures for free to make this site great, we moderate this site for free for the same reason.

Dude, seriously. You can't honestly be that thick. Sometimes a person can miss something that usually makes a picture being removed in the initial sorting. (Noted how I said person?) Then another person discovers that and reports it or, if capable, removes it. That can't be so hard to comprehend can it?

you are a laugh. my reply has everything to do with this discussion.
our members post helluva lot of copyrighted/pro-pics to the queue. some of those get approved, even tho that the crew tries to get rid of them, some make it through no matter what.

No. Dude, if you are so desperate to have your picture in a gallery, go somewhere else. Some of us actually want this site to be able to continue existing and not being brought down by copyright holders that want money for the publication of their pics. Sure I rarely visit the gallery anymore, but the forum is closely connected to it.

if ur not happy with the job the wbw crew do u dont have to use the site u could always post elsewhere
