Crew Changes and Intentions. UPDATE: 13 FEB 2013

Punnani and SP have been removed as moderators.
Omuh is now the new Demo-type, Crew-Manager guy.

Ok there are a few spots to fill in the forums :
- Games, Hardware, Software and Webdesign have no mods. There is not much content here so I guess one mod could rule them all (ring of power not provided).
- Nude Public Babes is also without mods. Two keepers would be great but one could also do the trick as the activity isn't that high (and we can still find someone else later).

There might be others adjustments to do later but that's the most urgent at the moment.
So, are some of you guys interested to step in ? Also, if you think some members would do a good job at moderating those sections, feel free to suggest them here or by PM.

Good luck Omuh. You got big shoes to fill. Demo was a good neutralizer of divergent personalities and got a lot done. Great guy to work for. With the current tool problems/limitations I would think the job to rather challenging. If anyone's up to it, I'd bet it's you.... "Cream Rises", as they say.

Demo is still helping me so I get some support in case of doubt. As for the tools, it seems that a lot of missing feature are now here so there are just a few things here and there missing. I'll make a list for Diz because the thread in the Feedback section isn't showing mod related stuff (for obvious reasons).

I still have no real suggestions for who to put on the Nude Public Babes section (at the moment, I'm moderating it but can't do it forever). Maybe one of the mod already checking one section want to also take care of this one ? There doesn't seem to be that much activity lately.
Same for the 4 "Computer" sections.

If no one else wants it ill do NPB ... I have been doing a bit there lately whist punanni was away.

I see the queue counter going down, but nothing put online... seems like people are only in the delete queue?

Personally I hate the Delete queue. We get a lot of emails in support about queues being emptied of people who contribute their own pictures.. because they look tooo pro? like WTF...

You're the bossman. If you aren't worried about bandwidth, change the protocol to not include reposts, and you'll see a huge increase in the number of pics being cleared.

Between chase and I we approved about 50 in the last hour ????? ... But yes there are a shitload of reposts in that queue Diz .. And I mean a large number of that queue is Reposts ... So that's why most of it gets deleted

I had some discussion with members having this problem.
The two main reasons why pictures get rejected are reposts and pro.
I think sometimes some mods just suppose a pic is pro (good quality, good settings etc.) but it's not. If I'm going to delete a pic for that reason I try to get sure it is (via google for example). But it takes more time too.
As for the reposts, if the "similar photo" feature is patched and works, it would really help the pic moderation get faster.

Well there is a script coming that will find duplicate pictures even if they are a different size.. so mods cannot delete pictures anymore that are not dups for sure. Problem is a repost can be something you seen in the forums with over a million uploads nobody can be sure if something is already in the database.

And I really hate that everything that gets posted on 4Chan or other sites gets deleted as wrong material... because it has been there? like WTF... I am getting more involved because there are a lot of complaints in the mail. Ochie is sick now for over a month, has been in and out of the hospital, and I am handling support.

As content isn't getting uploaded fast enough, we are losing members and income. It hasn't been a secret that wbw is slowly dieing, as of a result of putting way too less content online and a lot of content gets deleted by mods. Contributing people with own collections (photos made by themselfs) get deleted without reasons, even a guy sendover a ID of his wife to prove the person on the pictures was his wife... his uploads got deleted over and over... Gives me to think there is something wrong with the way moderation happens.

If I won't be stepping on anyone's toes, I'm happy to make corrections when I see them. I don't go to NPB very often, but for example, post 220 in http://whatboyswant.com/forums/read/156693/page:22 has copyright material uploaded.

These babe queue moderators seem to be inactive last month. Any reason for this? Maybe good idea to remove babe queue rights?

As I stated before there are multiple reasons:

1. Because most of the content that shows up on /s/ is professional material.
2. Because of the material that isn't professional that shows up on 4chan is from /r/gonewild which specifically states that all posters are immediately copyrighted on their materials.
3. Because the remainder that doesn't come from /r/gonewild it comes from other sites which stated copyright.
4. Because everyone fucking does it. Every fucking person thinks they are the first person to ever discover 4chan and that means they have to bombard us with what they just downloaded hours before. Every fucking time I look at the queue it is the exact same fucking images over and over.
5. Because everyone thinks they are the first to discover MyFreeCams and that gives them warrant to repost copyrighted material to our site.
6. Now we have half-wits running images through post processing filters like instagram just so they can reupload the same fucking images they downloaded from WBW in the first place.

Sorry to hear that Ochie isn't doing to well. But to the people complaining that they can't repost the copyrighted material they downloaded from other sites, tough luck, unless they want to invest towards any possible legal issue.

Okay first off that is not the real reason WBW is dying slowly. It is because the site overhauls keep getting progressively worse. The first two weeks of this latest version were infuriating, just trying to read the forum was a pain in the ass. The site is practically unusable on anything other than I retina iPad or a full blown computer. I used to be able to surf WBW relatively easily on my iPhone or my old netbook.

The second reason is because we keep losing functionality and it is being put off. The greylisting function is almost completely useless since it doesn't seem to affect anything outside of the forum contents. You can't even see who the bloody posters are to go after the spammers. The captcha is a joke, every time I get up in the morning fucking bots have had their way with the forums. Trying to moderate the queue takes exponentially longer to do because the UI is backwards and half the time it doesn't even seem to submit the changes. Hell even the poll functions have become worse. Still no post number listings. Hell, can we even stop members from blocking moderators?

Third, we have far more competition than we used to have.

Fourth, our users aren't even bother to submit original content anymore. It is just posts, emails, and images that they found elsewhere. Those that do submit original content tend to submit less than ideal content, "Hey, check out my obese wife who doesn't shave or wash properly."

Yeah a lot of them say that, but you know what? A lot of them are pathological liars, I've had people tell me that their wife content was original despite the fact I have had copies sitting on my drive since 2007. I can't even count how many MFC videos and pictures I've had to delete all claiming that they were the originators.

Well, if you want to lax the ruleset, fine, but don't complain when WBW is bombarded with nothing but reposts and advertisements.

I suppose we could just save all of ourselves the trouble and just rename the site WhatWasOn/S/LastNight.com.
