World Cup Final Controversy?

About that 5th judge having a monitor and the judge suddenly giving zidane a red card ?

In NFL the game is stopped and monitors used if there is a doubt about what to judge...

I think personally it was ok. Zidane "punched" him in the stomach with his face, if judged with a screen or not, it is a red card penalty...

What do you think?

I don't understand soccer rules yet, like when a player lays down on the field (Like Zidane did for his shoulder) and the clocke keeps running!!!..What the hell what a waste of game time that wasted away and I had to watch a penalty kick competition..Also, the officials seem to keep to personally involved with the players, too emotional, leading to bad calls...Whatever, its over now, Zidane and France will not get over this for 4 years

That's why we have overtime of 1-5 minutes etc. , i would also prefer NFL rules on the timing, but what are you going to do ?

It was a red card offence, but i'm sorry the way Italians play, i'd be going ice hockey on their asses. It'd be whipping their Tricos over their heads and coldcocking the most of them.
While i deeply respect their ability, defensive prowess and great goaltending, their style of pussyball makes me sick to my stomach. Gattuso was the only class act on the field for them.

France was definatley the more aggresive style of team, but Zidane should have kept his cool

As far as the overtime rules, make it like the Superbowl, play until its over, or the other team can't breath and just lays down in their own blood and sweat..

Well it was a clear red card and a player like Zidane with all his experience should've kept his cool no matter what the Italian player said to him there. But this red card didn't take the game away from the French as the reporters said.
Penalties are always a thing of pure luck. Plain and simple...

Extra time is always added on the end of the match for stuff like that, it's very rare to see a match where the final whistle is blown directly on 90 minutes

zidane was just stupid. i think it's just fair that he was punished. i agree with the 4th referee. this avoids all these discussions after the game and some punishment after the game.

before they were talking about putting instant replays for now on but i doubt they will do that,this aint NFL or Baseball

Sad to see Zidane leave that way, those italian pussies (and i am ONLY talking about the team!) make me really sick. See Gattuso's foot kicking for Zidane after his head punch? That is just so ridiculous. But nonetheless, it was a really stupid action which deserved to be punished.
