****This Is Not Spam*** I have a feeling someone will say it.

I just found this and checked it out and it actually works. So far I havent had any problems, everything is still running as smooth as it was before. And best of all it's free.

What you need is NeoWin Visual Styles Enabler
You can get it here - http://interfacelift.com/themes-win/software.php
Its describes what it does, and how to do it in the link above

After that follow these instructions - Windows XP Visual Styles reside in a specific place on your computer. Normally your boot device should be Drive C: and your Windows XP installation directory should be "\Windows". If this is the case, your Visual Styles should be uncompressed and copied into the "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\" folder.

Be sure to make a separate folder for your style. The style's file name should be identical to the name of the folder it is in. For example, to install the OSXP visual style, uncompress the files into the "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\OSXP" folder and make sure your visual style file is called "OSXP.msstyles".

Other associated files and folders may also be found in the visual style's folder. These files are part of the style. Occasionally there will only be the single "{theme}.msstyles" file in the visual style's folder.

And there you have it.

Also I am curious as to who tries this out, so leave a comment and let everyone know what you think

Its great if you have Windows XP and want to change the theme without having to download/install a couple of programs. The only thing about it is you have to find your own wallpaper.

Yeah that is pretty impressive, but I have a shitty computer and I highly doubt mine would be fast enough for something like that, plus I have been using windows for as long as I can remember so I am kinda used to it.

man to run linux you need less memory, etc...all you need is 256 megs of ram!...and if you don't want to run xgl/compiz 128 megs of ram is more than enough...i know people that install linux on 386 computers and they run fine....windows vista is going to need at least 512 megs of ram just to boot up :Othat's crazy...

Thanks, I have tried Style XP, and Desktop X but they were shareware programs and I didnt really feel like paying for something like that, plus you had to install 2 or 3 programs for everything to look right. This is the first thing that I have found that was free and didnt screw up my comp. But please do get back to me about that program Latino told you about.

What is the "xgl/compiz"? Is that what was showing in the vid?

Like I said I have a shitty computer, 192 MB of ram, 667 Mhz processor, and alot of other old components
