Actually I've been very surprised with this beta. There are a few known bugs (as with any beta) but it is surprisingly stable (again for a beta). I think a lot of it has to do with the driver model on it being more secure and the new approvals required for administrative functions. I haven't tried the 32 bit version yet so I can't speak for it. The only real complaint I have is the lack of 64-bit drivers and plugins. That will come along when it comes out though.

Question

How can I run this without deleting XP?

You need either two hard drives or one hard drive with two partitions to install it without having to delete your XP. Otherwise it will mess up your XP install completely.

I used Beta2 for a short while and found that it doesn't have many bugs. I had a little trouble installing it on my SATA drive and installing the drivers at setup. The nice thing about installing the sata drivers is that it allows you to put in a CD or floppy, rather than only accepting a floppy as XP did.
I found that it takes up quite a bit of memory and is also very simplified. The protection on opening EXE files and small things (in my opinion) get very annoying. They would be very helpful to those who don't know much about viruses or spyware.
I did find one bug in it though. I downloaded and installed emule which creates a temp and incoming folder within its own directory and then stores downloaded files to the incoming. I downloaded a couple of files which it said completed after download and were also shown in my shared part of emule but I could not find the incoming folder nor the file within the emule directory to open them. If I tried to open the files through emule, it simply gave me an error. I wasn't quite sure where the files went.

I also tried creating my own temp and incoming folders in the emule directory and redownloading the files, but it still wouldn't show them after they completed downloading.

Couple of things Beavis.

1) You can search and find a way to cut off the protection scheme. I also understand that it is a vast improvement over Beta 1 and is getting better on each pre-release so maybe by next year it will be fixed fully.

2) I don't think what you found was a bug in Vista, maybe a bug with eMule. They have a lot of things that have changed on the file system, one is virtual folders. It is a lot harder to find files downloaded with systems that use the old file system. Took me a while to straighten it out but I was able to finally find them. I wasn't using eMule though so I can't comment on it directly.

does anyone have a cd key for Vista , apprently microsoft discontinued issuing cd key, but the cd keys which were previously issued are good enough ( and legal) to be used to 10 computers

Can't help you there man. Kind of a no-no subject to give out cd keys. But I am sure you can find one elsewhere if you look hard enough. I did not realize that the keys were going to be given out for only a two week period. Supposedly though, this beta install is good for a year so I guess it makes sense.
