Which software are the best in those fields?

Well, I'm not dumb with computer, but I can't be updated on the latest/best software on the net.Can you help me, with your opinion? Here is the list of several fields, I start to write what I'm using...

3.AUDIO/VIDEO PLAYER
4.DVD BURNING
5.CHAT
6.ANTIVIRUS

3.VLC media player
4.NTI dvd maker
5.live messenger
6.Norton 2006(shame on you!)

1.Mozilla Firefox (this shit should be made standard instead of IE)
2.Ice DC++
3.Windows media player is good enough for me or iTunes player
4.Nero
5.MSN messenger 9
6.AVG anti virus (its free and it works just as good as Norton)

Edit: Forgot the dvd. I use Nero and DVD Santa. Command Burner isn't bad either.
