Whats your Favorite "LEGAL" narcotic (for minor-severe aches and pains or whatever else).

Please cast your vote, and respond with why and which milligram (Mg.), if other please explain in further detail.

I bring this up because I have something called "GOUT" (a sever for of painful arthritis) and they have prescribed MANY forms of pain meds and the one that works best for me will be voted for.

Now for my flare ups they used to give me vicodin, nothing but vomit central when I use those so after trying to give me a non-narcotic called "tramadol/ultracet" will no success they give me 5mg-15mg. percocets which seem to work well.

I ran out of the pain meds the DR. gave me and my father gave me a 30mg that I cut in 1/2 and so far that seems to work the BEST and thus has my vote for the #1 spot for something that actually WORKS!

Whats your vote... and why!?

Yeah, I'm pretty much no help on this subject, Vicodon is the only one I've ever taken and that was for dental issues, shit suck, doesn't work any better then motrin 800's...

I enjoyed the Vicotin the dentist prescribed me when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. Otherwise I stay away from the 'scrips. There's a nasty oxy epidemic where I live. Shit's like heroin.

I've tired oxy(10mg and 20mg), Vicodin (750mg and 500mg), Morphine, and Ms Contin(10mg), and I liked the Vicodin 750's.

i feel for you, especially if youre just starting out on a long road of needing those opiates.

really awesome () doctors had put me on them for years until i decided i didnt want to do it anymore, and i quit cold turkey. it was my personal hell, itll drive you almost to fucking insanity.

i see you said you ran out of pain meds from the doctor, if youre running through your supply before its time for the next script (i'm assuming, as its common after a while), then the slippery slope has unfortunately already began. dealing with that much pain can totally effect your quality of life, weighing the consequences of getting into that routine is definitely worth doing though. i hope it works out for you.

I am a control freak when it comes to me. I won't drink beyond "happy", and never took the Darvocet, Percodan and Vicodin that have been prescribed to me after my "livin' on the edge" surgeries. Hell, if I knew where they were, I'd give them away. Though I did go ape-shit on that morphine button after refusing to push it for 12 hrs. Once they convinced me to push it, I couldn't get enough. Yes, my lack of control scares me into a refusal to use.

I'm an addictive personality, and fortunate enough to recognize it, I guess.

I've heard some nasty stuff about gout. I hope it gets straightened out for you.

Morphine is truly magical stuff. There is a reason it is the easy go to pain killer in fugly times. I bet EL can probably break down the pharmacology on this, but all those pills are pretty similar IMO except for dosage. They make you all warm and then numb. Sort of like a lovely opiate blanket, if you will. *side note* - holy shit, Opiate Blanket is a great name for a band! If you take any of them for more than a week straight you are starting down a slippery ass slope. Don't even start mixing with alcohol or you might just misplace a few months here and there.

For headaches, back pain and fresh out of surgery I took (and take) nothing for the pain. I feel no effect in the slightest to be honest.

Weird, my dad has pretty severe gout. (had to get his knee drained many times) but he takes nothing besides ibuprofen. I guess he's just not a pussy.
