were women more likely to let you photograph them when only Polaroid cameras were available?

Yes. My punk-rock GF in high school (we were both 18) loved me taking Polaroids of her. She was totally hot and a bit of a narcissist, not to mention insane in a bad way as I later found out. That was like, oh hell, almost 20 years ago. Fuck, I'm old. .

Hell, it was her idea! Of course, it was better when one of her 'girlfriends' same came over and her bi-side came out. Not that I knew the 'lingo' back then. I just thought it was cool as hell that two girls were naked and fooling around... And then wanted me in the middle.

And no, I don't have any left. Don't ask. Scary thing is, she went from being a size 2 back then to balloning up to several hundred pounds within ten years. Haven't seen her since '92. Don't want. She's dang nasty according to reliable reports. Hot back in the day (as the kids say), though. Total nympo.

Well my point, indirectly, is this: since there would be only 1 copy of the photo, would a girl feel more likely to get naked since in her mind there is only one opportunity for the image to be produced? In the case of digital imaging, once the pic is taken, it can be on the web forever. Even with 35mm cameras there are always nengatives, that's how a former Miss America lost her title, if you can remember back that far...

For some, the fear was the pictures being seen by a film developing company. Photo Hut was the big one at the time. But I learned how to do my own film in high school, so that wasn't a problem for me.

...just thought I'd throw this question out there for those who ask questions about the "old timers" that used a real camera before the age of video and digital imaging... Are you getting more phone calls from women now that you have a cell phone?

No. Whole different world when the polariod first game out. The advent of the internet and mass television has changed attitudes many fold.

Most of the nude photos that I had taken started with getting the camera ready for an event that would happen the next day. One time after the gf had a couple Screwdrivers and a joint she did some modeling of ligerie for me and the camera. I had a friend that worked for a local film company develop them and she loved em.

Even had some shots of the ex-wife and some other ex-gf. Then the Bitch From Hell found them and tossed all of them out. Not only the nudes but every picture of any woman that I had ever known. Thankfully somebody else married her and now suffers.

To a degree I would have to say that not much has changed in the last 30 years. I didn't pass the pics around and by now most of these women would be happy to see these pics again to prove that they were hot at one time. I think that the same inducements are used today as back then, alcohol and such. However most women will pose if they feel sexy, wanted, disired.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

I don't really know the answer, but I think it would be easier for girls to want pics taken now, because of the whole "I can delete it if I want to" and they can print or do whatever takes their fancy. Previously it involved not knowing how they would turn out, plus the "chance" that someone would see them at the photo development lab. So very time consuming as well. If a pic looks good and the girl can see it immediately and likes it she is more likely to want to take more. That said there are some great girls that also go "That's awful! Try again!".

Well since I started this thread, here's another conundrum.... does the advent of digital, phone, smaller cameras give one more of a covert opportunity to take off color pics? i.e. since they can't readily see the camera, does one get a little more opportunistic in their photography? Seems to me there is a LOT more voyeurism now since we have pinhole cameras and the like...

OK, giving away my age here, in 1970 I could get the girls I went out with to take polaroids as long as they got to take them with when we parted company. It added to the excitement of our other(!) activities! Right now dropped $800.00 for a college film photo course for the summer but I'm the only guy in a class of 8 women.......
