Thor's Well -"the gates of the dungeon." CapePerpetua, Oregon. At moderate tide and strong surf, flowing water creates a fantastic landscape.

Those trees in #2 are exceptionally cool. Neat shot of Gibraltar Airport too. Traffic stopped every time a plane takes off or lands. Can make for a long wait at the wrong time of day.

No, with regrets, not my work, as I have limited talents. They were originally sent to me with descriptions, as you'll see with the first two clips, then chickupload.com played up, and between d/l descriptions and pics, I unfortunately lost all the descriptions. Pleased that everyone is enjoying the pics.

Many years ago, somewhere between Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands, I dove, alone, in a school of rays like this and followed them around a kelp forest for a long time. Lost track of time and location, ran out of air at 60' and way down current from the boat. Almost died that day. Just one of several times my own stupidity just about did me in.

But to this day, it remains the coolest thing I've ever lived through.
