Hey, it's not the news' fault that you just happened to miss it. I like watching it, especially now that I have a friend who's associated with that sort of thing! And SP knows who she is

But yes, apparently he's dead. So the real question here is, with Obama's approval rating in the toilet, does Bin Laden's death raise it?

I'm thinking it will. I mean, he was killed on Obama's watch. But other than that I kinda don't wanna jump the gun on this yet, because of the economy issue. People still don't know about this guy, at least it seems so.

You should read more YoungMonk. Working in a job is not like liking it
BTW, Journalism is the word, not news.

Don't think I said anything about a "job," NT. And thank you for correcting me on "journalism" instead of "news". That was my bad. I should have used the right word...I even took journalism in high school...
Much has changed.

Yes, he will get a bounce in his approval rating.

SP and DL I just thought I should pass these words of wisdom on to the younger generation before they are lost forever'
Never pass up a restroom, never waste an erection(ignore that part SP), and, NEVER, NEVER trust a fart. BRB

I'm curious. I know Bin Laden was public enemy number one in the US after 9-11, but is/was he still? I mean, do you guys feel happy knowing about his death now? Does it change your view on terrorism? By that, I mean do you feel that terrorism will decline now that he's dead...in other words...do you feel safer tonight than last night?

SP, I need a talk to type to express my reply but,
It will mean someone is "super" (Osama) (it happened reportedly on his watch). No it doesn't change my mind. I'm moving to china.

Reporter mode? haha
He was always America's most hated enemy (public enemy #1). But I for one don't necessarily feel happy that he's dead now. I mean, is the guy going to get replaced by someone worse? That's what freaks me out. That said, my views on terrorism aren't changed just because he's gone. I also can't say that I feel safer tonight.

Reporter mode? Lol yes, almost always.
I think it's an interesting view on society actually. When someone (or a nation in this case) focuses on something for so long, it can almost be a let down when the thing they've been focusing on happens.

He was entirely irrelevant. How many leaders of Hamas have been killed over the years? How many leaders of the PLO? Lots. Have they stopped lobbing missiles and bombing shopping markets? Of course not. But pointless symbolism is huge to a lot of people, mainly because a lot of people are not very bright.
If this is such the monumental moment it's being made out to be (so far), I'm guessing we see the repeal of the Patriot Act, the disbandment of the TSA and elimination of all those silly nonsensical security measures, right?
