OK OK We get it, and high school football games in North Carolina get heated too, but look at the big picture PLEASE!!!!

you dont get the point at my post. in us a lot clubs are franchises , get selled from one city to a other. its all about business...we have that in germany too, anhäuser busch buyed the munich icehockey team and put them to hamburg. that is not the kind of sport or stuff i like. for me, my team is in my heart, its my religion, abuse it or mess arround with it, i`m your enemy.for people like m.glazer its only business( hope he dies soon and rot in hell ) for us, its a part of our life.

How can you even think that you have a chance? The most annoying thing with Americans is that they always think they can win, but you can't out of the 32 teams playing in the world cup USA arearound 17th/18th best. You don't have the speed of the Africans, the flair of the South Americans or the grit and strength of the Europeans, I am going to really enjoy watching the Czech Republic beat USA tomorrow. The Czech Republic have a really strong squad and the only chance USA have of getting out of the group stages is Brad Friedel. He is one of the best keepers in the world but even that can't save USA. They are truly out of their league so you saying what would happen if USA won is a bit like saying what would happen if Luxembourg got the most gold medals at the next Olympics. It will NEVER happen so don't ask such a fucking stupid question.

I don't think it is a stupid question, things change. As an example remember that it used to be true that "the sun never sets on the English empire"...you see what I mean. We may not win this year or the next, but eventually we may buy out all your talent and become the super power of soccer, and yes we will call it soccer.

the US team was actually ranked like...5th by FIFA so...dunno why you think they don't have a chance. I've seen good teams lose horribly, and bad teams win, so nothing is ever for sure.

that being said, I don't think the US will win this year, and I'm rooting for my home country, Holland!

@ n00b2000 - you know how they got ranked fifth??? they played a bunch of island teams, carribean teams and some small asian teams. They didnt play ANY euro teams or South American teams...so how could they really be ranked fifth???

that fifa ranking is a joke

My colonial friend you can call it whatever the fuck you like. We'll still call it football, and football it will remain. No doubt youll be making movies about it soon about how you invented the sport. And i doubt football will ever catch on over there... You lot simply do not understand the passion behind it.

How many times do people have to tell you... The fifa rankings mean absolutely nothing. They base it on games played and games won. USA have played countless friendly games against literally nobodies and won... which gives them points in the ranking system. Im not saying the USA squad is bad, but believe me, it aint 5th best in the world. To think you are putting yourselves ahead of teams like Italy, England, Holland, Spain, Germany, Portugal... etc... is a fucking joke, and it kinda proves how ignorant most of you americans are with the sport of football to actually believe it.

we love football. its soccer that has not yet caught on. We will all like it once we figure out a way to make money from it, but right now the interest is not there.

If the USA could capture this argument as a whole, want to win i mean, we would. I think discussions like this will eventually lead to our dominating the world in soccer.

Have you not been listening, the ranking of fifth is not true, because we played the wrong teams in order to get it. I guess we are pretty good at beating teams from asia and banglanoo islands.
