The ear cutting part wasnt nearly as cool as people say. The only good part IMO is the ending, where everyone shot each other and steve b. took off with the loot.
i agree with you partly.
back in -92 when that movie was made, the whole movie-scene was different than today.
that movie was refreshingly different compared to main-stream flicks.
still, some scenes annoyed me too as well, like that whining you mentioned.
ever since this debut, qt's work has gone downhill anyway.
his later films have had only some good scenes, but i would not rate any of them higher than average.
today's situation is hilarious. many directors are copying qt's work, which has always been
series of copies from several directors quentin admired as a young dude. on top of that, he has admitted
being a part-time copycat, but still tried to put some of his own ideas to these mixtures.
