Some Of Your Coolest Old School Memories...

I made an 80s thread a while ago that seemed to really take off, so I thought I would make one about old school memories in general. Plus, making my avatar reminded me of being a kid, the fun part of life - We all had a childhood, except those who were raised be wolves or lived in a cave all your lives..

Being a kid was awesome. I remember when the only thing I had to worry about was which nintendo game my friends and I were going to waste our whole weekend on.

I remember the first day I played this:


As im sure most of you do at one time or another. Almost everyone had the faithful old nintendo.

Back when school was fun, and your worst problem was which girl you wanted to chase around the playground that day.

I think naptime should still be a staple of school and even our jobs.

Dude, were these things not kick ass? I loved those fucking toys. We would get done playing nintendo and just beat the shit out of everyone with our transformers, then after you are done killing your best buddy, you could transform back into a 1987 buick skylark and fucking motor away

Cool short story:

I once asked for a ninja turtles bedding set when I was about six years old and got what I wanted for christmas... but with the most awesome surprise that could happen to a little kid -

I opened the comforter that came with the set, and what falls out? Seven action figures tucked away INSIDE the bedding set that someone had apparently set up for theft later on and my parents ended up buying it for me before they could.

All four turtles and three foot soldiers. Rock on. My parents were like "wtf?" But I couldnt get over how awesome christmas was that year. I think that was the same year I got my nintendo.

I dont know I just never got into them. we had no money when I
was a kid so all I had was my brothers things to play with...

The ninja turtles were never really that homo. But looking back at He-Man.. thats another story. That dude might has well have been wearing a rainbow speedo.



So many things wrong with that picture.

Edit: Big wheels and stretch armstrong fucking ruled. I remember one night I left my big wheel outside overnight and the trash man though we were throwing it out, and dumped it the next morning.

I even dressed up as one of these guys for halloween too. These guys were awesome. Fighting alien mucus scum, catching ghosts in those little rolling black boxes and taking them back to their lair...and what about those plasma ray guns they had. Didn't we all want one of those?

I remember being a HUGE ghostbusters fan (bill murray still rocks) when I was a kid, but I was so fucking disappointed when I got the backpack home and found out all it was - was a fucking long piece of foam attached to a piece of plastic.
