Shaving the bush...method of choice

The topic has been on my mind for a long time but didn't post for fear of looking like a real dork (not much of a Forum poster).

Recent surgery required shaving my pubic region for an extended period of time and I found I liked this.
Did some net-research and for guys big brawny electric shavers were top o the list but my hair is rather fine and soft. I leaned toward the feminine side and found the Venus shavers w/female shaving gel the real ticket. maintenance shaving my balls is quick n easy.

Hygiene is improved and sexual sensation is like..wow! The Missus was slightly aghast at my sudden change and said she didn't really care one way or another. A recent camping trip resulted in her electrical shaving (and itching later) but the sex was much improved and now she's asking me how to shave her pussy. Oh what a situation I've gotten into now...!

My misses uses a Mach3 razor, nothing fancy...

And I'd have to assume, a very steady hand

I also recently investigated this and found an electric Bodygroom shaver on Amazon. It's supposedly a shaver for any area of the body. What's cool is that is has 5 different length settings so anyone can use it for a trim (guy's privates or a female's landing strip) or a close shave (probably woman). To get rid of the itching they suggest using something called Balla powder, which is essentially talc powder without the perfume or any irritants.

What I'm curious is if you (or anyone else here) knows other men who have done the same -- shaved their pubic hair.

I had a vasectomy which required shaving and it was basically the same as shaving my face, even used the same type razor (Mach 3 had replaceable blades so I just pulled out a new one and used it with some Barbasol in the shower then threw it away). Since then, if my woman is shaved then I do the same if she wants. It's only fair. And I usually just use the same type thing I use on my face (keep two razors in the shower, one for the face, one for elsewhere).

Why would you need a special razor for this? It is just skin and hair.

Tried it once on myself. Misses didn't go for that.

She makes me shave her.... works for me.

From what I've heard, using a regular razor results in unbearable itching in your pubic area, as well as razor burn and red bumps. Hence the idea of a special razor with special guards that don't irritate the skin, so you don't itch.

I use gasoline and a match..

Strange. I find this very uncommon.

But perhaps that's just my awesome pubic area, and that individual skin/body types may vary.

I know some girls are more prone to that than others, so I suppose the same could be true of guys. Also, the unbearable itching is more if you decide to let it grow in - sort of like when you get to a bit of beard after not shaving for a while - it's the going from no hair to long-ish hair that causes itching.

But it looks worse to scratch your crotch in public than it does if you scratch your face.

I experienced The Itch when I first started and got stubble before I shaved again. I used this stuff called Bikini Zone to ease the Itch and bumps...a main ingredient is lidocaine. Yes, my first experience w/this was with my vasectomy...then came the radical prostatectomy (cancer @ 46...I've gotten used to the orgasmic dry-heave sensation since I produce no semen at all now). Once the shaving is regular, the itch stops...it's just part of regular routine. The Venus razors have those soothing lubricating bars that glide so nice. Very nice over the sensitive skin of the scrotum.

That Bodygroom electric razor recommendation seemed to be on nearly every web page I read and I looked into this but it seemed like overkill. It almost seemed like a web marketing campaign. Balla or any other medicated powder works too....Gold Bond, Ammen's, Monkey-Butt they're all good.

Once you shave your pubes the sexual experience is so much better (different) with more feeling that you'll wish you did it sooner. Its amazing how much sensation you loose with that layer of hair getting in the way.

I tried shaving for a while. Always the same result, itching and irritation, no matter what method i used.

i've tried with the hair flow, against the hair flow. With shaving gel, without. I even used a couple female products.

Since those horrible months i just trim it with an electrical shaver.

Its the same when i shave my face.

When I run of of gasoline.

I use a helicopter blade.

Chuck Norris does mine with a shark tooth glued to the end of a pitching wedge.

It sucks and cuts at the same time!

The Flowbee blades move back and forth. If the hair is not cut the first time it is cut the next. Does not pull your hair out. It actually feels cool and refreshing. Flowbee's customers are pleased that the blades last hundreds of haircuts many years of use. Some people have been using their original Flowbee for 15 plus years.

Flowbee, better make sure it doesn't suck or cut anything it shouldn't

I used that for a few years and then went to the light side with the lazer treatment. Very happy I did it !

ive used pretty much everything, mach 3 razor is best, never once sliced myself up. used electric hair trimmers before, to get most of the grunt work done and save on razor life, but caught my sac in the teeth once and that was the end of that endeavour.
