Saving Flash files -

Ok when i go on a website and view a flash file via the web player - where does it go?..the .swf file?

how can i save it or view it again offline?

temp/windows or something?..i looked but couldnt find it

or u could look in the source and find the link to the swf file, then download it with a download program, or open it in a new window of say fire fox ans 'save page'

There are many flash files, which call another flash file on the play, if you download the main.swf, you can't get the secret.swf. Then the flash player says Movie not loaded. Usually Internet Explorer saves all the flash files to temp what it has opened.

^^^^ Yea Ascaris you are right. Coz I tried saving it but then what I saved was just a little 5 second intro of the flash movie so your spot on there.

Ok i dont seem to have a folder like local settings in that location you mentioned but this is the website..

They use a file called virtualgirl.swf as their main one but as you enter commands, it is playing other ones. I need to know how i can save them or where they are once streamed on my harddrive

You'll need to enable "Show hidden files and folders" in Control Panel-->Folder Options-->View to see those folders.

With some sites the SWF file isn't saved to that folder. In that case you can save the entire page to your computer and that will allow you to get the file, but make sure you save the entire page, not just the HTML or as a text file. Go to File-->Save Page As(or Save As)

Yea i found my local settings folders BUT like you said it is not there..

I tried saving it to, the web page but that doesnt work either. I Think it is different sections depending on the command you give her..but im wondering where r they all going?

if you use IE all the vids are saved in the Temporary Internet Files as seperate SWF files.

most are over 1MB but here are two small ones...

fuck i just noticed..i totally got rid of my IE...i only use firefox

it has to be going somewhere though..strange

firefox saves the files differently in a folder buried deep in your computer and it changes all the file names to things like AerIAFja instead of keeping the original name. if you look for it you will find it, but i forgot where it is.

that wont work, it doesn't keep the extention, it just renames them so every file is just ramdom letters. do a search for files modified on the date you viewed them (probaly today) and look for ones between 1 and 2 megs

found it. on my computer its:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4ezzj1lj.default\Cache

yours should be the same
