Looking for apps to capture streaming video of various formats. I am currently using SnagIt. It works well but I would like something that would capture multiple streams simultaneously. All suggestions welcome!

I'm looking for something that would capture Yahoo webcams, doesn't need to "crack" into the other person, since I would be invited, but I need it to capture to JPG files or a movie file, rather than print screen and scramble to put it in MGI Photosuite so I can get back to the webcam and snag something else. Would like it to be FREE, yeah, we all want free shit, well, I want it too! Thanks people

Someone help us horny bastards out! I've heard of a few programs but they cost money and stuff...hell if it's just something that will take the printscreen result and put it in a file for every time i press the button, that's fine and dandy, I can crop the cam image out myself.

$300?
Holy fuck.
I'll pass on that.
I will search for free alternatives.

Here is a good screen capture program you can try.
I don't know if it will capture overlays or not.
But you can't say I didn't try.

camtasia records everything that's on your screen, you can set regions etc etc, even fullscreen games
30 day trial and you-know-what-to-do :P

you could try www.fraps.com . The program is designed to capture videos from games, but it might work for anything on the screen.

snagit and camtasia will do what we are requesting however as already stated they aren't free. I would suggest in the interm you take advantage of the shareware portion as its not crippleware so its fully funtional, as far as i can tell. Obviously a free alternative would be the best solution. Anyone got any suggestions with regard to Linux?

Don't know if you've ever heard of camstudio, but it's completely free, and fully functional in recording webcams, and it records in AVI format, easy to use. I have the first 2 versions and they work fine.
