I like everyone else loved the fact that rapidshare removed the traffic limit completely; or so they say they did. But I've just discovered that once you download an unspecified amount rapidshare puts your account back on a download limit. This is the message I got when I went into my account: This account has exceeded the limits of our fair-use flatrate. We have applied a traffic limit of 4 GB per day to this account for the next few weeks. You have downloaded 82463 MB in the last 7 days. Now I understand that fair use things exist, hate them with a passion, but what really angers me is that nowhere does rapidshare mention this wonderful little bit of info. Don't know about anyone here with premium accounts, but when the limits were gone, that's what I was supposed to get for my money. But instead rapidshare brings to light and enforces a rule that cannot be found anywhere on their site, hell the entire net for that matter. Can't even read the fine print to find out about this cause there is none. When I pay for something I expect to get what I've purchased, not be bent over and made a bitch!! Whoever has thoughts on this please let us all know.

A 4gig a day limit sounds fine to me. They do not mention anything about downlaod limits on the site, I guess they should. But then again downloading 80gig over 7 days is pretty excessive.

80gb or not he paid for NO LIMIT for his downloads. And unless there is something else in the User Agreement(like some kind of limitation of the download) i would say that Rapidshare didn't play by the rules.

While we're n this topic, anytime I download a file from rapidshare when i try to open the file it says I don't have the software to run it and it says the software isn't available. Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

GOOD GUESS! Where's my WBW WinRaR? shirt?

I'm sure RapidShare has this sort of thing deep inside their user agreement somewhere, that they have the right to do whatever the fuck they want, whenever the fuck they want. 87gb is a lot, but that isn't the point IMHO ... but get used to it, companies always do that sort of crap. Don't reward them with any more of your business.

I smell suit - it doesn't matter if it's 203GB per day that was downloaded - Unlimited is Unlimited - definition - NO LIMIT for my money. He's right - NOWHERE on their site does it mention ANYTHING about fair limits or Fair-use Flatrates...... Wide open for a chunk of the profits - Me? I'd start threatening until I got free usage for the rest of my life or a chunk of the profits...........

"There is no traffic limit, but a "fair-use flatrate". This means that RapidShare does not enforce a traffic limit. RapidShare will check the traffic the accounts generate from time to time. RapidShare reserves the right to apply a traffic limit of 4 GB per day if the fair-use flatrate is being abused. To abuse the fair-use flatrate, you have to download much more than 4 GB per day and this over a longer period of time."
http://rapidshare.com/en/premium.html

So pretty much, you just have to not download 12gb every single day to keep you unlimited status.

My internet provider puts a 10 gig limit on me per month so i don't figure it would be a problem with rapidshare.

I do realize that 80 gigs is a whole lot, and I don't really mind them having a limit. But as JustMeAGain said "it doesn't matter if it's 203GB per day that was downloaded - Unlimited is Unlimited - definition - NO LIMIT for my money. He's right - NOWHERE on their site does it mention ANYTHING about fair limits or Fair-use Flatrates". Would be nice of them to say that this policy is in effect somewhere so that one would now about it. Bangledesh where did you find that info? I went to your link and see nothing like that on the page. Oh yeah and in my defense, it's not that hard to download that much with new movies being 1.5 gigs and tv show seasons at 8gigs each
