if speeding always do less than 50 k's over the limit that way at least you'll save your licence!

With the prior tickets and all, you are fucked. Someone who had been driving for years with no tickets might get them to drop it some and save their license but since you say you already have some speeding tickers, I doubt they do anything for you. Good Luck.

BigJ is right. I am not advocating speeding at all but radar evidence is starting to be excluded here b/c there are some problems. There was a recent case in NJ where the defense attorney using the same radar gun the police used clocked the wall of the courtoom going 10 mph and the judge threw out the evidence.

It is a long shot. Find out where the cop was whether he was moving or stationary. Find out the type of radar used. Have your attorney get the calibration report (cops here have to keep). Research the gun. Check to see whether that gun has problems.

Also, they type of car you were driving (curves, etc) can be a factor and can the presence of other vehicles.

If you get off don't speed any more.

The walls are not supposed to move though.

I got caught going 85 mph(~137 km) in a 55 mph(~88 km) zone on a country road once. I admitted that I sometimes like to drive too fast. Amazingly, the cop let me go with only a warning and a $10 seat belt ticket. I was wearing the belt when he stopped me, but I took it off so I could get my wallet out. I knew better than to argue with him about that one. He could have taken 3 or 4 points off of my license and made me go to traffic court.

haha, nope same bronco as ive had for years
and yes ive been booked bofore, im sitting on a few speeding tickets, i think i might be very screwewd

yeah i think you are screwed.
What did you say to the cop that pulled you over.. what was your reason for speeding?
If he didnt ask you that you could say some kind of emergency.... you just have to think one up... House on fire.. baby was getting born.. the invisable man was after you.. plead insanity.. plenty of options..
[/reply]

This is a huge misconception in my opinion. In my experience, the last thing you want to do is give the cop an excuse. Most cops hate that and are much more likely to let you off if you don't feed them bullshit.

From what i have heard i wil lose my liscence(already had demerits) and get fines/ community service. My question is if anyone has had this or something like this happen to them and if u know what might happen

I also havea qusetion about the radars and how accurate they are
is there any margin of error

and fyi, he got me dead on from the side of the road goin 114 kilometers in a 60 zone

You will be out of luck, my older brother Andy was could a few years ago up in GP, tried to argue that he was much slow, he actually was but that did help him. he lost his licenc for a year

So in response to alot of you, i dont need the lecture on not speeding, it was well early in the morning, and it is a backroad behind a resedential community, This road at this time usually has noone on it besides the occasional truck, and that is the only reason i speed on it. THe officer was stationary and got me on a 75 degree angle from the front. I think he saw me coming.

Does anyone know where i would be able to find the specs on the radar guns, and can i get that other information easily?

You need to find out what type of gun they were using. You need a lawyer.

Bullshit. Absolute bullshit. My radar works fine rather I'm moving or not. That's why it's mounted in the windows. Not some handheld POS.

i don't think it looks good man. i know if you were in BC you'd be screwed for sure. i'm thinking that Alberta will be about the same, though i can't talk from experience. My advice would be to look really penitent and remorseful in court.
