Printer Ink Secret...Very Good to Know!!
It is a known fact that when cartridges show empty there is a fair amount left. It is worth a try.
THIS YOU MUST WATCH........for the record... Epsom are the biggest of the ink scammers.
LEXMARK cartridges have the little "reset" thingy so will certainly be trying it next time I'm told it's nearly empty!

I will definitely try that, those damn cartridges are way to expensive to not try it...

Ill be interested to know if this works for anyone, I've just checked my cartridges which look very similar to the ones in the movie and there's no reset button.
From my understanding its not the cartridges that are the problem its the print heads once they're declared dead you usually have to buy a new one, because a chip blows an internal link after x00 prints.

mod = typo correction.

I'm calling bullshit. The circuit board would not have a feature to "estimate" the ink level if the cartridge had an actual ink gauge. "If" such a reset button does exist, it would only "reset" chip, not force the chip to read a non-existent ink level gauge.

Is there a little ink left when the gauge says "empty" Yes, I'm sure there is.
Is there 1/2 or even 1/4 left .... not a chance, unless there's something wrong with the cartridge that caused it not to discharge the proper amount of ink to begin with.
