My brother is in the army, he sent me a letter to sell his computer. He gave me the specs as I will type them out here. I'm okay with computers to a point but not pricing them. Just want to get a good idea how much I should list it for him. He said we should be able to get $800 for it, I know he works on it when he gets leave time but this time around he will be gone for at least 2 years. Please help and thanks. Specs:

- 2x 500GB Seagate 7,200rpm SATA III Drives / RAID1

- DVD Burner / Multi-card Reader
- 802.11 a|b|g|n Dualband Wireless

Well, off the bat and pricing everything individually it's about $1500 in parts according to the latest prices on PCPartPicker. First thing I would suggest is taking out the hard drives and keeping them. Never, ever, sell or give away hard drives. Also unless he bought a retail copy of Windows 8.1 and not an OEM it has a non-transferable license. I would ballpark it at about $1K without drives.
