The only reason plasmas are on the market is because LCD used to be too expensive to make in larger sizes, and people wanted big flat tvs they could put on the wall, now that the cost of LCD has come down 10 fold, theres no need what so ever to go for a plasma.

The viewing angle on LCD's is now 178 degrees on a Sony, so you just wont notice the picture changing if you move around.

LCD is more power efficient, it will cost less to run.

Hi-Def will look sharper on an LCD because the image is created pixel by pixel, where on a plasma its a big "glow" (which is why it doesnt suffer from pixelation as much as an lcd, it doesnt display the image as accurately).

Plasmas suffer terribly from screen burn, LCD's dont.

*edit* Plasma screens are reflective, so in sunny/bright conditions it looks bad, LCD has a matte finish so it looks better in non ideal lighting.

Conclusion, DONT BUY A PLASMA.

I use a LG RU-44SZ61D LCD projection w/ DLP that has RGB in from a ATI1900XTX and it is awesome, never had a LCD flatscreen but I here the gamers were mad at first cause it couldnt keep up w/ the graphics...this TV keeps up big time w/ games running in excess of 200fps and no trailing... now manufactures brag about a "response rate". New large LCD flats w/ a good rate are expensive. downside to projectors or the projection tv's is lamp life. supposed to be around 3000 - 5000 hours. once you turn them off leave them off till the bulb cools, you shorten the life by hitting a hot lamp w/ the startup voltage.........

Personaly, Stay away from plasma. Stick with a HD LCD Now you can get a "48 £1500 (Samsung) .When they are on in the shop you can see the difference. I was right with my choice.
Xbox 360 and playing burnout online is well good

Consider DLP, I have a 56" Samsung and the picture is insane. HD broadcasts of football games and races are unreal.

i got a samsung 23 inch tv, the same one they use to demo the 360 in stores, and its great for gaming. problem is, if you have a shitty cable service like i do, you will get a shitty tv picture. My cable service clames it has alot of HD channels, but its mostly standard tv Upconverted to HD, and poorly, with a lot of ghosting! I thought it was my tv, but i played a few TRUE HD sources (i hooked up my friends HD DVD player into it, and it looked amazing with no ghosting what so ever) and it works great!

plasma looks better than the out of focus fuzzy detuned look of LCD, all in all I think Ill stick to my 68cm CRT, I know it works and will continue to do so, much like CRTs have done since 1936....
