this thread is excellent

ninjas because:

division of work made pirates specialize in sailing and fightning was just the last step, a necessary but it would be better if avoided (to an extent, violence is teh bad part of something that couldbe done without exposing your man labour forces to a risk eg. loosing part of the crew or even firing the cannons - ehich i guess were not cheap -

but ninjas only worried about fightning

well here's my P's and Q's..... ninjas as quiet as they were.... they were land based assassins trained in the art of silence..... im not quite sure how that fits into a sea based battle...... granted they were good at what they did, but im sorry... Johnny Peg Leg stakes his claims out on the deep blue..... and when it comes down to it.... its not like pirates had one huge ship like you see on tv...... they were roving bands of small ships, and they would have noticed an asian ship long before the element of suprise had passed its marker
